Nulixir, a nano-biotechnology start-up, is a VC-backed business-to-business (B2B) company that develops, manufactures, and licenses intellectual property (IP) for smart nanocarriers, called nanovesicles, which optimize the performance of functional ingredients in food & beverage products. This patented technology (70+ patents) has applications across multiple verticals in food and beverage (e.g., nootropics, energy stimulants, vitamins, probiotics, protein, etc.).

Founded in 2019, the company brought together a team of CPG leaders, cancer researchers, US attorneys, and nutritionists to overcome long-standing challenges in the Food and Beverage Industry. The firm's founder has extensive experience in the development of nanocarriers for cancer therapeutics.

In the past-year, Nulixir sales have grown ~8x with strong interest from small, mid-size and many large CPG companies to partner with Nulixir and incorporate the technology in their products. Nulixir boasts an impressive board of senior executives from companies like Pepsi, Danone, McKinsey & Company, Paine Schwartz Partners, etc. The company currently has 30+ employees with a stellar executive team who come from food B2B companies such as ADM, Givaudan, Kerry, and ex-MBB consultants.

Position Overview:

We are seeking a highly organized and experienced Hiring Manager to join our team. The Hiring Manager will play a critical role in attracting, evaluating, and selecting top talent to drive our company's success. This individual will collaborate closely with department heads and HR professionals to understand staffing needs, develop recruitment strategies, and execute hiring plans effectively. You will also play a leading role in post-hiring processes such as employee onboarding, managing an employee database, etc.

This position will be based at our HQ facilities located in the Austin, TX Metropolitan Area.

Relevant Job Experiences, Skills, and Key requirements for this role:

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field (Master's degree preferred).
  • Proven 5+ years of experience as a Hiring Manager, Talent Acquisition Specialist, or similar role in a fast-paced environment.
  • In-depth knowledge of recruitment strategies, candidate sourcing techniques, and selection methodologies.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build rapport with candidates, hiring managers, and cross-functional teams.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines simultaneously.
  • Proficiency in managing and building recruitment / HR tracking systems.
  • Understanding of employment laws, regulations, and best practices related to recruitment and hiring.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion.
  • Demonstrated commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion in recruitment practices.

In this critically important role, you will be responsible for:

  • Recruitment Strategy: Develop and implement comprehensive recruitment strategies to attract a diverse pool of qualified candidates.
  • Job Posting and Advertising: Write compelling job descriptions and advertisements tailored to target the desired candidate demographics. Utilize various platforms such as job boards, social media, and professional networks to maximize exposure.
  • Candidate Sourcing: Proactively source candidates through networking, direct sourcing, employee referrals, and other creative channels. Build and maintain a talent pipeline for current and future hiring needs.
  • Screening and Evaluation: Review resumes, conduct initial screenings, and assess candidates' qualifications against job requirements. Coordinate and conduct interviews, including phone screens, video interviews, and in-person meetings.
  • Interview Coordination: Schedule interviews, coordinate interview logistics, and communicate effectively with candidates throughout the hiring process. Collect feedback from interviewers and facilitate hiring decisions.
  • Candidate Experience: Ensure a positive candidate experience by providing timely communication, clear expectations, and constructive feedback at all stages of the recruitment process.
  • Offer Management: Extend job offers to selected candidates and negotiate terms of employment, including compensation, benefits, and start dates. Work closely with HR and legal teams to ensure compliance with company policies and regulations.
  • Onboarding Support: Collaborate with HR and hiring managers to facilitate smooth onboarding processes for new hires. Ensure new employees receive necessary training, resources, and support to succeed in their roles.
  • Data Management: Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of recruitment activities, candidate interactions, and hiring metrics. Generate regular reports to track progress, identify trends, and make data-driven decisions.
  • Performance Tracking: Identifying and developing KPIs that monitor recruitment performance.
  • Continuous Improvement: Stay informed about industry trends, best practices, and emerging technologies in recruitment and talent acquisition. Continuously evaluate and refine recruitment processes to enhance efficiency, effectiveness, and candidate experience.
