Holiday Hiring Event- Nationally Certified Medical Assistants(Bilingual English/Spanish)- School Health - Urban Health Plan : Job Details

Position Summary:

We are currently hiring Bilingual (Spanish/English) Nationally Certified Medical Assistants for our School Based Health Centers in the Bronx and Queens at Urban Health Plan, Inc. Nationally Certified Medical Assistants provide support to providers and nurses with patient care, clerical duties, and laboratory activities. Candidates must have a true passion and love for working with children and their families.

Minimum Qualifications:

* High School Diploma required.

* 1 year of previous experience working in a community-based clinic.

* Certification as a Medical Assistant AND National Certification as Phlebotomy Technician required OR Certified Clinical Medical Assistant (CCMA), required.

* Bilingual Spanish/English required.

* At least 1 year of related experience with children highly desired.

* Flexible work schedule.

* Proficiency with computers and software.

* Strong communication skills.

* Ability to multi-task.

Key Duties:

* Process blood draws and administers PPDs when required. Collects specimens for laboratory testing.

* Prepare examination rooms and equipment.

* Participates in health and wellness activities and health education when required.

* Obtain vital signs, chief complaints, and medical history and accurately records in medical records.

* Completes referrals and discharges patients.

* Assists providers and nurses during all aspects of exams.

* Assist provider during visit with treatments, examinations, and procedures.

* Schedules appointments, verifies insurance and demographic information.

* Processes diagnostic orders.

Starting Compensation: Minimum: $21.00/hour ($43,680 annually); Maximum: $21.00/hour ($43,680 annually)

Work Environment Type, Location, and Schedule:

These roles are onsite based out of the Bronx and Queens, and applicants must have availability to commit to a schedule of 40 hours per week, Monday through Friday 8am to 5pm with occasional evenings and weekends.
