Home Care Aide - Evenings & Weekends - Home Helpers : Job Details

We are looking for compassionate and skilled Home Care Aides/Caregivers to provide support for individuals in their homes and communities. This role is vital in helping clients maintain their independence and quality of life by offering assistance with personal care, light housekeeping, meal preparation, transportation, companionship, and respite care. We are currently seeking candidates with availability for evening, overnight, and weekend shifts. Applicants must be reliable, flexible, and passionate about providing exceptional care during non-traditional hours. Responsibilities Include:

• Deliver care as directed by the Care Manager/Care Coordinator and detailed in the client's Care Plan.
• Assist clients with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) and personal care, such as bathing, toileting, grooming, dressing, transfers, feeding, exercise, and medication reminders.
• Monitor client well-being and home safety, promptly reporting any changes or concerns to the Care Manager or Care Coordinator.
• Perform light housekeeping, including bed-making, dusting, vacuuming, cleaning, and laundry.
• Plan and prepare meals, ensuring adherence to any special dietary needs outlined in the Care Plan.
• Provide companionship through social interaction, emotional support, and engaging activities.
• Offer respite care for families per the Care Plan.
• Assist with errands, shopping, and attending appointments, including managing client funds under supervision as needed.
• Support communication tasks, such as writing, typing, or research on behalf of clients.
• Maintain accurate records of daily activities, observations, and service hours.
• Attend training, orientations, and team meetings to ensure the highest quality of care.
• Collaborate with the Care Team, offering suggestions and insights to improve client care.

Qualifications:

• Active Home Care Aide Registration with the California Department of Social Services (CDSS). (Visit the CDSS website for more information.)
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a strong sense of empathy and the ability to respond calmly and quickly to client needs.
• Basic computer skills and proficiency with mobile apps, including a willingness to learn company software.
• Ability to adapt to a fast-paced, ever-changing environment while maintaining professionalism and composure.
• Commitment to presenting a professional appearance and upholding ethical standards, including honesty and integrity.
