Home Health Aide (HHA) Instructor Position Available at Elmont Career Center: $45-$50 per hour. Elmont Career Center, renowned for its excellence in healthcare education, is on the lookout for seasoned and committed Registered Nurses to fill the role of Certified Home Health Aide (HHA) Instructors. This role presents a unique chance for Registered Nurses with a zeal for education and a desire to profoundly influence adults ready to embark on a nursing career. Our ideal candidates will be bilingual in English and Creole, catering to the linguistic diversity of our students. Availability: part-time and full-time Daytime Instruction Mon Fri 9am 2pm Evenings Instruction Mon Fri 4pm- 9pm Weekends Instruction Sat & Sun 8:30 am 4pm Clinical Instruction one full day in a facility (weekdays or weekends) Mon - Thurs 7am- 3pm Key Responsibilities: Exhibits a high level of energy and an exceptional ability to engage and motivate students, fostering an interactive and dynamic classroom environment. Instruction of theory and practical skills as detailed in the curricula. Maintenance of official student records, including attendance rosters, sign-in sheets, and quiz and final grade sheets. Well-versed in utilizing essential software tools including Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint to enhance educational delivery and administrative efficiency. Provision of routine feedback on student skills and academic performance. Building assessments designed to measure student learning and preparedness for credentialing exams. Demonstrating clinical competency with basic nursing care. Teaching clinical skills training in simulation labs to build student confidence. Supervising clinical experience at healthcare facilities is required for certification. Maintaining awareness of credential requirements and updates to certifying exams. Demonstrating knowledge of effective instructional strategies, classroom management, and content field. Engaging in sitting, standing, moving about, or walking for occasional or frequent periods. Possessing strong verbal and written communication skills, excellent customer service skills. Developing and preparing lessons; recommending curricula changes and supplemental materials. Performing other duties as assigned, to ensure the organization's ongoing needs are met. Ability to work independently and anticipate educational needs with motivation to start education. Evaluate students progress through both theoretical and practical examinations. Qualifications: Registered Nurse with a current New York State license. Valid BPSS teaching license preferred, if you do not have one, you must obtain one within 2 weeks before being hired. We will guide you through this process. Active NYS BPSS teaching License A minimum of 3 years of full-time practical experience as an RN with 2 years of home care responsibilities, preferably with some teaching or mentoring roles. CPR certification Proficiency in English and Haitian Creole Strong verbal and written communication skills. Demonstrated knowledge and competency in the subject area.
