- Assist with daily personal care tasks, such as dressing, bathing, and grooming.
- Administer prescribed medications (if trained and authorized) and ensure proper adherence to care plans.
- Offer companionship and engage in meaningful conversations to support mental well-being.
- Monitor and support memory-related needs, including reminders for meals, fluids, medications, and appointments.
- Prepare and serve minimal meals that accommodate dietary needs and preferences.
- Perform light housekeeping tasks, such as laundry, cleaning, and organizing.
- Maintain a clean and safe environment within the individual's living space.
- Monitor clients' health and report any changes or concerns to family members or healthcare professionals including facility staff.
- Transport clients to appointments, errands, or recreational activities as needed.
Skills and Qualifications:
- Proven experience as a caregiver in a similar role.
- Knowledge of elderly care practices, including assistance with mobility and memory challenges.
- Empathy, patience, and excellent interpersonal skills for working with individuals of varying physical and mental capabilities.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills to interact effectively with clients, families, and team members.
- Strong ability to manage time and tasks efficiently.
- Ability to lift or support the individual during mobility assistance.
- CPR and First Aid certification (preferred).
- Confidentiality: Commitment to maintaining client privacy and adhering to HIPAA guidelines.
- Reliable transportation required
Schedule:
- Flexible hours; specific schedule to be determined in coordination with the individual's needs and family, ideally weekdays 7 am - 7 pm.
This is a contract opportunity, and we do not offer benefits at this time. Position can be full or part time.
