Click on the following link to view the full pay range on the Salary Schedule: Job Summary: Provide an ongoing educational program for homebound and/or expelled students in the district identified as capable of benefiting from instruction. Guide the learning process toward the achievement of curriculum goals, content standards and identified achievement gaps. The tutor employs a variety of instructional strategies and assessments and utilized appropriate technology to facilitate student learning. Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Ability to support students who have identified gaps in achievement.
- Integrated technology skills to support the content area(s) and student learning.
- Good organization and communication skills.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and collaborate with staff and classroom teachers.
- Work is assigned by Coordinator of Student Support or designated school personnel. This position requires application of position knowledge to effectively and efficiently instruct content area. Most decisions are made immediately without time for collaboration; supervisor is involved only in major decisions.
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to instruct, communicate and use interpersonal skills; frequently required to compare, analyze, compute, synthesize, evaluate, compile and negotiate.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in Education or other related discipline. Special experience and training as determined by content area. Prior experience working with students preferred.
- Valid Colorado Teaching License, Special Providers License or Three or Five Year Colorado Substitute Authorization.
- Knowledge of child and adolescent development.
- Knowledge of identified subject area(s) and standards-based education.
- Advanced skills in assessment and the use of data to inform and support intervention strategies targeted to the needs of individual students.
- Successful experience in working with culturally diverse families and communities.
- Transcripts required.
- Valid Colorado driver's license.
- Criminal background check and District fingerprinting required.
