For more than 126 years, Epworth Children's Home has grown and adapted to the individual needs of children and families by providing a safe and nurturing environment, evidence-based practices, and programs across the continuum of care and across the state of South Carolina.Position Summary:The Community-Based Specialist utilizes the Homebuilders Model to provide families with a wide array of services to equip and supply family members with the necessary tools to successfully prevent out of home placement or reunification services. Use the training and supervision guidance to implement an evidence-based model.Teach by direct methods, generally including the following components: presentation of the skill, modeling, role-play, constructive feedback, coaching, praising and encouraging. Develop an understanding of systems that serve families including the legal, social services, health care, and school systems.
