At multiple locations throughout our community, we help restore the lives of people experiencing homelessness and addiction through emergency services, rehabilitation, transitional programs, and community outreach. The Opportunity: The Homelessness Resolution Connections Specialist (HRCS) is responsible for vetting, developing, organizing, and maintaining community connections for our Homeless Resolution Team (HRT) as well as performing contract duties as assigned. This position will acquire and maintain knowledge and understanding of homelessness resolution strategies and rehousing systems, cultivating collaborative relationships with key community resource providers and translating these connections into accessible and usable resources for HRT staff. The HRCS will ensure that clarity and cohesion exist between HRT staff and connections to community resources, facilitating the movement of clients through our systems towards housing stability. Responsibilities will include but not be limited to:Community Provider Relationships & Resource Development:
- Develop and maintain relationships with resource providers in the Government, Medical, Behavioral Health, Housing, Benefits Acquisition, Employment, Social, Legal, Disability, and Veterans fields, etc., to aid clients towards housing stability.
- Ensure that clarity and cohesion exist between HRT and its connection to community partnerships.
- Serve as the point of contact for community providers and during special engagements at all Denver DRM locations.
- Provide leadership and professional expertise in the planning and implementation of service provider events hosted by Denver Rescue Mission and overseeing communications between participating parties.
- Lead the promotion of DRM collaborative efforts with donors, volunteers, and DRM clients.
- Collaborate with the DRM Donor & Marketing Teams on fundraising events focused on providing housing stability support for clients transitioning out of DRM's continuum of care.
- Ensure onsite community provider services run smoothly, questions are answered, and issues are resolved efficiently and effectively.
- Analyze and pursue resources to meet the needs and address barriers to housing for clients utilizing DRM services including Housing Resources and Landlord recruitment.
- Develop and conduct surveys with DRM guests and clients to gather real time data and feedback on community connections and resource needs.
- Maintain DRM database of vetted resources for accuracy and usability by staff and clients to ensure DRM's case planning efforts reflect a real-time understanding of resources that aid in exiting homelessness and supporting housing stability.
- Develop and maintain consistent formatting, presentation, and organization of community resources in various forms: computer files, digital displays, and print materials.
- Manage clear and consistent communication with DRM employees about community resources, including notifications of changes and updates.
Administration & Compliance Management:
- Ensure accuracy and compliance with all contract documentation and reporting requirements.
- Create, format, edit, and follow detailed workflows incorporating multiple databases, reports, and spreadsheets.
- Maintain professional best practices in areas of document storage, confidentiality and professional ethics when dealing with clients and client information.
Homelessness Resolution Training:
- Assist in the development, delivery, and scheduling of training for staff by both internal and external partners to better understand and utilize HRT resources and community connections.
- Communicate with the public through speaking arrangements, community meetings, interviews, etc.
- Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in a related field such as: Human Services, Social Work, Communications, Marketing, etc.
- One year of related work experience. A combination of education and experience may be substituted.
- Experience directly engaging with individuals experiencing homelessness and/or housing instability preferred.
- Experience engaging in broader homelessness-response and rehousing systems.
- Must be detail-oriented with the ability to handle multiple tasks while independently following through with details.
- Experience collaborating with community agencies and developing strategic partnerships to serve the purpose and mission of an organization.
- Experience researching and developing resources and engagements serving the purpose and mission of an organization.
- Excellent customer service skills with the ability to interact with integrity, respect, and professionalism with a diverse group of people.
- Well-developed interpersonal and relationship building skills, demonstrating cultural competency and an understanding of trauma-informed care.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Strong written and oral communication skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office 365 applications, especially Excel.
- Self-motivated with the ability to manage time independently to meet deadlines with quality work.
- Active Driver's License and insurable under Denver Rescue Mission's standards to travel to various DRM facilities, partner organizations, and housing properties.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Ability to resolve conflict professionally and respectfully while maintaining composure under pressure.
- Must be a Christian holding to the beliefs set forth in the Statement of Faith, expressed by a personal testimony and Christian conduct.
This job operates in a professional office setting as well as in DRM's shelter and transitional housing facilities. This role routinely travels to and from facilities and properties, requiring the use of mobile devices for documentation and communication. The position requires in person one-on-one interactions with clients who are experiencing homelessness or are recently housed, both on property and off. Benefits and Perks:
