POSITION SUMMARY: The Housekeeper companion provides housekeeping assistance and interactive companionship with clients to help maintain independent living within their home. There is no hands on care to the client required in the position. ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
  • Perform a variety of homemaking activities such as sweeping, mopping, dusting, and laundry
  • Polish and clean fixtures in rooms, kitchen and bathrooms
  • Clean and disinfect all fixtures, floors, mirrors, windows, doors and walls
  • Clean and disinfect bathrooms, kitchen and household appliances
  • Gather and dispose of trash and waste materials using specified bags and/or containers
  • Companionship: interactive activities and conversation
  • Perform duties in a safe manner and comply with established policies and procedures
  • Perform all duties in compliance with established safety and infection control policies and procedures
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
POSITION REQUIREMENTS & COMPETENCIES:
  • Minimum high school diploma or equivalent
  • Satisfactorily completion of required training
  • Must be able to pass a criminal background check
  • Must have reliable transportation; if by car, a valid driver's license and proof of insurance is required.
  • Ability to work with limited supervision
  • Ability to read and follow; written and verbal instructions
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills, both written and verbal
  • Reliable, energetic, self-motivated and well-organized
WORKING CONDITIONS: The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit, talk, hear; use hands to finger, and handle controls. The employee will only utilize non-toxic chemicals. Must be physically able to perform the duties of the position, including lifting in excess of 15lbs, with or without assistance, depending on assignment requirements. Bending and stooping to prepare equipment for consumer or managing consumer environment. The employee frequently is required to reach with hands and arms. The employee is frequently required to stand, walk, and stoop. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and the ability to adjust focus.
