S/he is responsible for upholding the Code of Ethical Conduct and for promoting positive working relationships within the company, among all departments, and all external stakeholders. As the Homereach Hospice Operations Manager you will support the daily operations of our hospice program with a focus on program growth, while ensuring compliance with regulatory standards. In collaboration with the Hospice administrator and clinical leaders, you will be responsible for strategic planning and enhancing patient access and retention initiatives. Additionally, you will oversee growth efforts and ensure admissions and census meet or exceed budgeted targets.Position Specific Responsibilities
- Manages hospice operations, with particular focus on growth and revenue performance while considering clinical capacity and supporting staffing initiatives to achieve goals.
- Ensures compliance with state and federal regulations, as well as organizational policies and procedures in area of responsibility.
- Oversees growth efforts to expand hospice services and improve market presence while working with Hospice Administrator and clinical leaders to maintain high-quality care.
- Develops and staffs a local market-based sales growth team.
- Provides training, tools, and oversight for the sales team to drive effective performance .
- Develops and implement a targeted growth strategy aligned with budgeted census and financial performance targets.
- Provides recommendations for marketing and communication strategies and investments.
- Cultivates collaborative relationships with partner facilities to support care management and transitions of care.
- Identifies and develops relationships with physicians and other healthcare providers and partners.
- Identifies geographic expansion opportunities through acquisitions and/or de novo expansion.
- Identifies and escalates payor and facility contracting opportunities to enhance service delivery and revenue.
- Reports on performance dashboards to track key metrics and outcomes, ensuring alignment with organizational goals.
- Mentors a field team, promoting a culture of teamwork, accountability, and continuous improvement .
- Develops and implement strategic plans to enhance service delivery and patient satisfaction.
- Collaborates with healthcare providers, community organizations, and stakeholders to improve patient care and access to services.
- Conducts regular staff training and collaborate with performance evaluations to maintain high standards of care.
- Collaborates to address patient and family concerns, ensuring effective communication and support.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Education And/or Experience
- Bachelor's degree in healthcare administration, nursing, or a related field (Master's degree preferred).
- Minimum of three (3) years experience in hospice or healthcare management.
Skills
- Other Skills and Abilities: Strong knowledge of hospice regulations, compliance requirements, and CMS standards. Excellent leadership, organizational, and interpersonal skills. Ability to work in a matrixed reporting structure handling multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. Compassionate approach to patient care and family support.
- Mathematical Skills: Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percentage.
- Language Skills: Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from leaders, team members, investors, and external parties. Strong written and verbal communications.
- Other Skills and Abilities: Ability to understand, read, write, and speak English. Articulates and embraces integrated healthcare at home philosophy.
Certifications, Licenses, and Registrations
- Active driver's license in good standing and proof of insurance.
Physical Demands and Work Environment: The demands of this role necessitate a team member to effectively perform essential functions.
