Hospital Chaplain - Spiritual Care Provider - Houston Methodist Hospital : Job Details

We are seeking a highly motivated and compassionate individual to join our team as a Hospital Chaplain Intern. As a member of our Clinical Pastoral Education (CPE) program, you will have the opportunity to develop your skills and knowledge in spiritual care and pastoral counseling.

• Participate in the CPE program, which includes classroom education and individual supervised learning.
• Provide spiritual care support to patients, families, and employees, meeting their spiritual, religious, and emotional needs.
• Collaborate with the healthcare team to provide comprehensive care, communicating effectively and respectfully.
• Contribute to the improvement of department scores for employee engagement.
• Participate in interprofessional health team rounds, discharge planning, and other teams.
• Assist in the initial screening and assessment of patients, developing patient care plans and responding to referrals.
• Provide crisis intervention and spiritual support to patients, visitors, and employees.
• Accurately document patient visits and spiritual care provided.

• Enrollment in an accredited college/university.
• Bachelor's degree or graduate-level theological degree from an accredited school (preferred).
• One year of membership in a faith/belief group.
