Work Location: 1002 Watson Pond Road, Rome, MEFull Time $50,000 annual salary
Position Summary:Reporting to the Facilities Director, the Hospitality Manager must have strong leadership skills to lead and manage teams of motivated professionals in day-to-day tasks. Provide leadership and mentorship to help establish policies and procedures to increase efficiency and quality of what we offer at the retreat.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:- Responsible for managing culinary and housekeeping teams;
- Provide daily and direct oversight and mentorship to culinary and housekeeping departments;
- Maintain and improve systems to increase efficiency of kitchen and housekeeping processes;
- Assist with establishing schedules for staff and department needs;
- Support establishing proper training for both staff and volunteers;
- Establish community relationships with local resources, businesses, and schools that can enhance the retreat experience;
- Assist with in-kind donations for housekeeping and kitchen departments;
- Ensure departments run smoothly: supplies, schedule, personnel, safety guidelines are established and followed, etc;
- Project management as directed: manage projects in coordination with Facilities Director
- Maintain interior facilities responsibilities of the main Retreat building and Health and Wellness Center, including annual major cleanings, repainting schedule, and general maintenance;
- Other duties as needed to maintain highest quality of standards that ensure veteran family's safety and success are first priority;
- Assist facilities team with any major projects or time-sensitive matters, including snow removal, storm damage, events, any work on outside of all buildings etc;
- Snow removal on sidewalks around retreat and health and wellness center;
- Responsible for emergency and security issues after hours.
Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities):- Relevant 4 year degree and 4 years of management experience (or applicable military experience) are both required
- Willingness and ability to work outside normal working hours. Must be flexible with hours and availability as needs shift throughout the year
- Supervisory and leadership experience
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively with staff, set priorities, fulfill responsibilities, and organize department
- Excellent organization skills, communication skills, and creativity
- Professional, polite, and articulate written and verbal skills
- Ability to think and work strategically - while also being efficient and juggling many things at once
- Bonus skills: swimming and paddling skills, lifeguard/first aid/CPR certifications, experience with fitness center and aquatics
- Must have background in electrical, plumbing, carpentry, construction
- Must have experience in operating motorized equipment (excavator, front loader, forklift, mowers, snowblowers) etc
- Must be 21 years of age and have a current drivers license
