JOB TITLE: Information Specialist, Jr.JOB PURPOSE: Support the financial aid systems team within the Office of Scholarships and Financial Aid (OSFA). JFNTMPESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Assist in conducting specialized inquiries resulting in organization, analysis, interpretation and dissemination of information pertinent to project/data issues in administrative planning, decision-making, research objectives, and pertinent regulations.
  • Participate in the development, maintenance, and usage of consistent and accurate longitudinal databases and systems.
  • Create and/or respond to structured inquiries using basic Structured Query Language (SQL) code, including ad-hoc requests for information, the development of standardized reports, questionnaires, and surveys.
  • Provide statistical or analytical consultation to the department and other departments.
  • Participate in the review, revision and automation of office procedures; perform data verification.
  • Use flowcharts and other logical methodologies to diagram business processes.
SUPPLEMENTAL FUNCTIONS:
  • Read and understand system documentation.
  • Assist in the review of internal process documentation.
  • Assists other areas in the office during high demand times.
  • Other related duties as assigned.

REMOTE WORK ELIGIBILITY: This position provides vital support to campus customers and requires the successful candidate be available to work on campus.MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Education: High school graduate or equivalentExperience: 1 year progressively responsible work and/or project-related experience Pass required background checkDESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Working towards a Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or other Computer Related Fields.
  • Basic knowledge in Structured Query Language (SQL).
  • Intermediate knowledge in Microsoft Excel, including basic usage of Pivot Tables and Formulas.
  • Possess strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to maintain positive intercultural and interpersonal relationships.
