Job Title: Housekeeper

Location: Ishpeming, MI

Pay: $15.34 per Hour-2nd or 3rd shift

What's the Job?

- Creates a sanitary, safe environment and enhances the appearance of the facility through the following duties: clean patient rooms and other assigned areas daily, collect and remove trash, change bed linens and sanitize all surfaces, wash walls, clean and sanitize bathtubs, sinks, mirrors and similar equipment, dust and damp wipes outside of vent covers and light fixtures, stock paper items and other supplies in patient rooms as necessary or designated, checks bedside curtains and window shades and replaces when dirty or torn, empty waste baskets and clean and sanitize when necessary, polish brass, clean and polish glass panels in doors and partitions, dust and wet mop floors and vacuum carpet, wash urinals and toilets using prescribed procedures, assist in the cleaning of emergency spills observed or upon request.

- Maintain cart and equipment in clean, working condition and stores in appropriate storage area when finished with shift. Keep utility and storage rooms in clean and orderly condition. Return unused or unsoiled supplies to appropriate areas at the end of the day.

- Perform routine cleaning functions in assigned areas following established work schedules and using prescribed methods. Clean and sanitize furniture, equipment, window sills and inside windows, and polish furniture and fixtures as required. Arrange furniture and equipment in an orderly fashion and reports any equipment or furniture out of order to supervisor.

- Gather, dispose, recycle, as dictated, all rubbish, general waste and medical waste following prescribed procedures for handling and disposal of same.

- Follow established policies and procedures, objectives, safety standards, and sensitivity to confidential information. Maintain appropriate logs and records.

What's Needed?

- Full time, temp to permanent for the right person.

-2nd shift 2:00 p.m. to 10:30 p.m. or 3rd shift 10:00 p.m. to 6:30 a.m.

- High school diploma or equivalent.

- Preferred: Previous housekeeping experience.

- Demonstrated ability to follow specific instructions.

- Demonstrated ability to perform routine, repetitive tasks on continuous basis required.

- Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.
