Housekeeper/After School Care - Household Staffing : Job Details

Job Title: Housekeeper/After-School Care Assistant Location: Stony Brook, New York Compensation:

• -$35 per hour, depending on experience
• 1 week vacation
• Federal holidays off and paid
• Live-Out position

Schedule:

• Monday-Friday, 30 hours per week
• Work hours: 11:00 AM - 5:00 PM or 12:00 PM - 6:00 PM

Duration:

• Long-term commitment

About the Family:

• Adults: 1
• Children: 4 (ages 3, 5, 7, and 10)
• Pets: 1 dog, 2 cats
• Home Size: 2,500-3,000 sq. ft.
• Current Staff: Regular deep cleaning service

Position Responsibilities: Childcare:

• Care for 4 children, ages 3, 5, 7, and 10
• Pick up 3-year-old from school at 2:45 PM
• Get older children off the school bus at 3:25 PM
• Supervise homework

Housekeeping:

• Maintain tidiness between deep cleans
• Family laundry, including hand washing delicates
• Dishes, vacuuming, and general cleaning
• Organize and clean both refrigerators
• Keep the house organized, including closets, craft room, and basement
• Tidy up the front and back yard

Cooking:

• Prepare healthy after-school snacks (e.g., strawberries, fruit, vegetables, yogurts)
• Help start and prep dinner meals for the week
• Plain cooking as required

Errands:

• Run errands such as dry cleaner drop-offs and grocery shopping
• Maintain a running list of household needs (e.g., cleaning supplies, food)
• Ensure important items (e.g., jerseys, important shirts) are kept track of

Pet Care:

• Feed dog and cats

Ideal Candidate:

• Experienced in both housekeeping and childcare
• Kind, loving, and respectful with children
• Punctual, reliable, and drama-free
• Able to engage in light conversation and anticipate family needs
• Self-starter with a positive attitude
• Fluent in English
• Valid driver's license (car available for position)

Position Requirements:

• Relevant experience in childcare and housekeeping
• Minimum of 2 references
• Pass stringent background checks and drug testing upon offer of hire
