**POSITION: Housekeeper**

**SUPERVISOR:** Guest Services Manager

**DEPARTMENT:** Camp Del Oro

**STATUS:** Part-Time (non-exempt)

**GENERAL STATEMENT:** The Salvation Army is a branch of the Christian Church and the ultimate goal of all programs is a spiritual regeneration of all people.

**BASIC PURPOSE:** The purpose of this position is to assist in the upkeep and maintenance of camp and its buildings and to maintain all assigned housekeeping areas in a manner that presents a constant image of cleanliness, order, and a high standard of sanitation.

**DUTIES - HOUSEKEEPING:**

- Prepare guest facilities for visiting staff or guests

- Dust windows, doorways, furniture, and all cobwebs.

- Sweep floors.

- Scrub kitchen and bathroom sinks, counters, showers, toilets, and clean mirrors.

- Mop and disinfect kitchen and bathroom floor.

- Clean and disinfect refrigerator, stove, and microwave.

- Wipe down walls as needed.

- Clean baseboards as needed.

- Re-stock all paper products.

- Empty all trash to dumpster and replace can liners.

- Make beds.

- Place clean towels at the foot of each bed.

- Vacuum all carpeted floors. Shampoo carpets as needed.

- Check under beds and in drawers for items left by guests. Bring items to office.

- Collect, wash, dry and fold any linen used by rental group.

- Maintain laundry rooms in clean and orderly fashion.

- Maintain linen storage areas in a clean and orderly fashion.

- Maintain an inventory of supplies needed and place an order through the Office Manager as needed.

**QUALIFICATIONS:**

- Must be at least 18 years of age

- Previous experience in housekeeping and some experience in outside maintenance

- Ability to work independently and with minimal supervision

- Ability to maintain good rapport and communication with other staff members

**PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:**

To perform this job successfully, the incumbent must be able to perform the essential duties with or without accommodation.

- Ability to sit, walk, stand, bend, squat, climb, kneel, and twist on an intermittent or sometimes continuous basis.

- Ability to grasp, push, pull objects and tools.

- Ability to lift up to 40lbs.
