JOB TITLE: Housekeeper GENERAL SUMMARY OF DUTIES: The primary function of the housekeeper is that of maintaining the cleanliness and disinfection of the hospital in order to maintain a synergistic, harmonious and productive environment for patients, their families and fellow employees. REQUIREMENTS:
- High School Graduate or GED preparation required.
- Ability to relate and work effectively with others
- Demonstrated skills in verbal and written English communications for safe and effective patient care and to meet documentation standards
- Willingness to participate in goal-setting and educational activities for own professional advancement
- Previous experience in cleaning/floor maintenance in a hospital environment is preferred
- Is aware of professional standards and performs in accordance with them
ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES:
- Move equipment as necessary to clean behind areas.
- Cleans and disinfects all furniture and equipment with a germicidal solution and a clean cloth. This includes IV poles, suction canisters, doors, tables, and beds.
- Clean each room thoroughly from ceiling to floor, including janitor closets.
- Clean all AC vents.
- Clean all walls.
- Clean and disinfect all sinks, toilets, and countertops utilizing approved germicidal solutions.
- Dust all surfaces, ledges, panels, etc.
- Clean all windows.
- Mop all floors utilizing approved germicidal solutions.
- Clean all baseboards.
- Vacuum all carpets.
- Dispose of all trash.
- Wipe all exterior surfaces with approved germicidal solutions.
- List all supplies needed.
- Ensure all housekeeping equipment is in working order.
