Position Title: Housekeeping AssistantReports to :Supervisor of Environmental ServicesNon-Exempt- Full Time- Day Shift and every other weekendSalary Range: $15.00 Min – $21.76 MaxPurpose of this position- The position serves Hultquist Place Assisted Living Facility. The primary function of the job is to provide a clean, attractive, safe and sanitary environment through cleaning various environmental surfaces and performing a variety of routine and corrective cleaning procedures.Qualifications- Must be 18 years of age. A high school diploma or GED preferred. Experience in institutional cleaning is preferred but not required.Delegation of authority- Authority is delegated to the individual in this position by: Director of Environmental ServicesJob DescriptionFollows written and oral directions as directed.Collects equipment and supplies for daily use.Buffs floors with floor machines and maintains a monthly buffing scheduleCleans carpets, upholsters furniture and mats with carpet cleaning machines.Performs basis math skills such as adding, subtracting, multiplying and dividing to determine proper dilution rates for chemicals.Moves equipment and furniture for cleaning and rearrangement of offices, resident rooms and dining areas.Follows duty lists the way they are written.Performs AM Freshening consistently every day in every room.Performs the 10-step cleaning process effectively and consistently.Sanitizes hand rails and lifts on a daily basis.Completes required terminal cleans as needed in a timely manner.Ensures all turnover rooms are standardized and ready for new residents.Washes walls, ceilings, vents, lights, windows floors and furniture.Keeps utility and storage areas clean and in orderly condition, no food or beverages.Washes bed and mattresses.Changes privacy curtains quarterly and between residents.Cleans stairwells, elevators, and baseboards.Dusts and damp mops floors in corridors, entrances, and other areas as assigned.Performs high dusting of vents, cabinets, and other furnishings.Interacts with resident and follows up on requests in a timely manner.Follows all safety procedures and uses personal protective equipment effectively and as required.Notifies management of equipment needing repair. Reports safety hazards to management.Returns unused supplies to appropriate area at end of the day. Keeps carts neat and orderly at all times.Works until 15 minutes until shift ends before getting cart ready for the next day. Stays busy and makes best use of time while on the clock.Does not use company phone or cell phone while on the clock.
