Position Objective Housekeeping Specialists have the opportunity to create a warm and hospitable environment for all guests as they enjoy our facilities and experiences at Carolina Creek. This position is essential to the ministry of Carolina Creek. Housekeeping Specialists serve the mission of Carolina Creek by maintaining cleanliness of all facilities in a timely and efficient manner. Key Job Accountabilities
- Greet and serve all camp guests with a joyful attitude and posture of hospitality
- Participate in general program functions as requested, including but not limited to serving meals, cleaning, and parking
- Attend required staff meetings and events
- Actively participate to the broader camp programs
- Actively engage and participate in the staff community through a godly attitude, words and actions.
- Must be a team player, and willing to work in all types of weather
- Must be flexible with an ability to adjust and problem solve in challenging situations
Responsibilities
- Execute the cleaning of all camp facilities, including but not limited to the dining halls, cabins, meeting rooms, lodges, and offices
- Clean lodges, cabins, public restrooms and meeting areas prior to the groups arriving and after they depart.
- Remove trash under the beds, sweep, clean restrooms, spray bedding, assist with laundry duties, restock paper products,replace trash bags, refills supplies and operate vacuums, ect
- Also assist making beds in the vip areas and seasonal spring cleans
- Clean all assigned offices, cabins, and/or public restrooms, as well as sweeping/mopping and/or vacuuming floors, picking up trash, restocking/refilling supplies
- Organize supplies for the day
- Report to supervisor any uncompleted tasks
- Turn in all lost and found items to designated areas in Guest Services
- Maintain compliance with Carolina Creek employee policies and procedures
- Maintain compliance with all state and federal laws and regulatory requirements
- Must demonstrate annually a clear background check and review of child safety practices as required for camp accreditation by the American Camping Association
- Other duties as assigned by supervisor

QualificationsEducation/Certifications/Licenses
- Must have a current valid driver's license
- High school diploma, GED, or equivalent preferred
Work Experience
- Janitorial/housekeeping experience preferred

- Knowledge of workplace housekeeping procedures

- Ability to work in inclement weather
- Able to effectively communicate in English, both written and verbal
- Be able to articulate the mission, values, and faith elements of Carolina Creek from a personal perspective.
- Actively participate in and contribute to the broader camp programs of Carolina Creek and be willing to serve in other areas of camp when necessary.
- Attend and participate in all required staff meetings, Bible studies, worship services, and events.
Physical Demands
- Ability to use up to 20 pounds of force routinely, and/or up to 50 pounds of force occasionally to move objects
- Engage in difficult and exhausting manual labor, often over long stretches of time without breaks.
- Ability to walk long distances on varied terrain, bending, stooping, climbing ladders/bunks, carrying supplies
- Ability to grasp, push, pull, carry or otherwise manipulate objects; ability to perform tasks requiring action of muscles or groups of muscles and foot and/or hand-eye coordination including: wiping, mopping, and sweeping.
- The physical environment requires the employee to work long hours both inside and outside in hot and humid conditions, sometimes walking long distances over steep or uneven terrain.
- The job duties require sitting, standing, squatting, stooping, twisting, the ability to lift/carry from 15 to over 60 lbs., sweeping, mopping, and climbing stairs and ladders.
- Ability to drive a car, truck, van, box truck, ATV, or other vehicle.
- Ability to see and hear at distances to ensure safety when working in hazardous conditions and situations.
- Ability to be heard when speaking or shouting at distances when responding to emergencies or leading in large group situations.
Additional Requirements
- Adherence to company dress code and professional standards for personal grooming and appearance
- Satisfactory completion of a background investigation, as well as ability to provide proof of eligibility to work in the United States
- Ability to complete a Child Protection training
