Job Description :
Hours and Pay: 20 hours per week/$15.00 per hour; 52 hours on-call; On-site apartment.General Description:The Housing Facility Assistant shares responsibility for the oversight of the Transitional Housing facility and will be required to live onsite in a private unit with weekend, evening, and overnight availability, specifically during off times of the Housing Facility Manager. They will follow and help set the highest quality standards possible as they relate to daily cleaning, maintenance, projects and systems to ensure proper building operations. They will help to maintain the buildings and assets in a manner that extends life of equipment.Qualifications:
  • Must be over 21 years of age
  • Pre-employment background check and drug screening
  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Ability to live on site
  • No pets of any kind will be permitted with the exception of a certified service animal
  • Ability to operate a computer proficiently including Microsoft Office programs and Building Automated Systems
  • Job Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Oversee YHDP workers
  • Treats all persons with dignity and respect
  • Offer vision, creativity, and enthusiasm to employees and community members to generate the positive thinking of and best practices for young people
  • Role model positive supportive behavior for residents
  • Assist as needed with weekly apartment checks with case managers
  • Preparation and maintenance of housing units, building cleaning and notifying staff of needed repairs.
  • Maintains common areas of all buildings in a presentable manner, keeping all walkways, lobbies, laundry rooms, etc. clean
  • Responsible for lawn and landscape maintenance in the summer and snow and ice removal in the winter, in addition to trash removal year round
  • Control costs and work within budgeted framework regarding supplies.
  • Recommend operating improvements for budgets in areas covered by scope of responsibility.
  • Maintain a preventive maintenance program for all equipment and assets.
  • Be available for emergency calls and be able to respond adequately.
  • Complete routine inventory of supplies
  • Other duties as assigned
  • Knowledge Skills and Abilities:Ability to reach, crouch, kneel, stand, be on your feet, and bend for extended periods of time. Regularly work in adverse conditions and required to use protective equipment to prevent exposure to hazardous materials and may be required to walk on slippery and uneven surfaces. Must be able to lift, push or pull up to 50 lbs. individually or with assistance.The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
