Your day as a Housing Stability Specialist
As a new Housing Stability Specialist at EDEN, your day-to-day expectations will focus on providing essential support and guidance to individuals and families facing housing instability. You will conduct intake assessments, create individualized action plans, and coordinate resources to help clients achieve housing stability. Each day involves actively communicating with clients via phone, email, or video calls, ensuring their needs are met with empathy and professionalism.
You will collaborate with external agencies and community organizations to facilitate access to necessary services. Your schedule will be Monday through Friday, with some flexibility to accommodate client needs. Expect to engage in team meetings, training sessions, and ongoing professional development opportunities to enhance your skills and effectiveness in this vital role.
Would you be a great Housing Stability Specialist?
To thrive as a Housing Stability Specialist at EDEN, you will need a blend of essential skills and experience. A Bachelor's Degree in a Social Services-related field is required, along with at least two years of relevant experience, ideally including work with individuals who have criminal backgrounds. Strong communication and interpersonal skills are crucial, allowing you to build trust and rapport with diverse clients. Problem-solving abilities will help you navigate complex situations and create effective housing plans. Proficiency in using software tools for case management and data entry is expected, enabling you to maintain accurate documentation and track client progress.
Additionally, a valid driver's license with four points or less, as well as access to a reliable automobile and insurance, is necessary for meeting clients in various locations and ensuring their needs are effectively addressed. Empathy, attention to detail, and a customer-centric focus will further enhance your success in this impactful role.
