Job Description :

Position Description: The Customer Service Representative in the brokerage is the primary and front-line client contact in the brokerage and is responsible for overall client satisfaction. The position requires in-depth technical knowledge and understanding of each Client's programs, including the participating insurance companies, coverage limits, and reporting standards. Thorough understanding of insurance documentation, including ACCORD certificates, Endorsements, and Policies is required. A broker's license is required.

Reports to: The position generally reports to a Director, if handling multiple client accounts; or to an Account Executive, if handling an individual client account.

Responsibilities:
  • Independently analyze insurance and financial data for client insurance program submissions; Develop and make coverage and renewal recommendations as part of Client Service Team.
  • Independently prepare initial submission documents; including applications, account overview; exposure information or other data as directed.
  • Manage all quotation activity; follow up with carriers for missing items as needed.
  • Compile, review, and analyze initial quotations and carrier responses.
  • Draft and submit initial quote documents for client.
  • Prepare binding documentation.
  • Review, analyze, and issue all binding documents to client quality check for accuracy and compliance with program requirements.
  • Invoice of coverage, coordinate premium payments.
  • Follow up with carriers for policy issuance; review all policies for compliance with program requirements.
  • Issue program instructions to all system vendors and support staff; ensuring that all policy information is updated.
  • Independently prepare and analyze monthly client reports including bordereaux of enrolled projects under various insurance Master Programs.
  • As primary client point of contact, respond to all client questions regarding coverages, limits, and special circumstances and change requests.
  • Prepare and send out endorsement requests pursuant to authority level.
  • Draft technical responses and assemble documents to reply to RFP's.
  • Draft and issue general letters of insurability on behalf of insurance carriers, including rate verification letters.
  • Issue documentation related to insurance programs such as auto insurance cards, Special Acceptance forms; letter of insurability and insurance certificates as needed/directed. Maintain schedule of insurance for assigned clients and update Insurance Manuals to reflect program changes.
Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Insurance, Risk Management, Finance, Business Administration or similar program; or a minimum of four years' insurance or claims administration experience; or an equivalent combination of education, training, and/or experience. Broker's license required. CPCU, ARM or similar insurance designation desired. Proven written and verbal communication abilities; proficiency with computer applications, including Microsoft Office suite and various insurance-based RMIS or brokerage management systems. Ability to understand and interpret contract and insurance documents and forms. Demonstrate strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work with individuals at all levels, both internal and external. Ability to travel.

Work Environment:

On a regular basis this job is performed in an office environment with usual office working conditions, free of disagreeable elements. On an occasional basis, the employee may travel to and work at a job site location or client office location and be located in a trailer or other temporary structure. The noise in this work environment may be moderately loud.
