30hop in Coralville, IA is seeking a Human Resource Assistant to join our growing team. The Human Resources Assistant will support the smooth and efficient operation of the HR department by handling administrative tasks such as data entry management, communication, and compliance audits. Our HR department oversees 10+ restaurants with locations in Iowa, Kansas, Nebraska, and Missouri. Current restaurant list; 30hop, Iowa Athletic Club, Tribute Eatery & Bar, Tin Roost and Field Day Brewing Co. We're looking for someone who;

Pay: Starting at $20 per hour and up based on experience. Schedule:
  • Monday-Friday, 8:30am-4:30pm
  • Up to 40 hours per week
  • Hybrid-remote work environment. In-office days are in Coralville, IA.

Accountabilities:

Essential Functions:
  • Perform administrative tasks related to HR operations using HR software and tools
  • Manage and maintain accurate and up-to-date human resource files, records, and documentation through digital platforms.
  • Provides clerical support to the HR department, including managing digital files, organizing documentation, and assisting with administrative tasks using HR software and tools.
  • Communicate effectively with employees and management via digital communication tools. Answers frequently asked questions from applicants and employees relative to standard policies, benefits, hiring processes, etc.; refers more complex questions to appropriate senior-level HR staff or management.
  • Assist with compliance audits and reporting using technology systems. Performs periodic audits of HR files and records to ensure that all required documents are collected and filed appropriately.
  • Support HR projects and initiatives, leveraging technology to improve efficiency and processes.
  • Maintains the integrity and confidentiality of human resource files and records.
  • May assist with payroll functions, including addressing employee inquiries, correcting processing errors, and distributing checks.
  • Assists in facilitating new hire orientation.
  • Assists with planning and execution of special events such as benefits enrollment, organization-wide meetings, and employee training.

Qualifications:
  • 1+ years of experience in an office, data administration, or assistant role, with a focus on utilizing technology tools and systems to complete tasks.
  • Familiarity with HR software, labor laws, and regulations.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage via digital platforms.
  • Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information securely using technology.
  • Proficient in using HRIS, payroll management systems, and other HR-related software; ability to quickly adapt to new tech tools.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail, with experience using digital tools to manage workflows and tasks.
  • Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify issues and use technology and resources to find effective solutions.
Preferred Qualifications: not required but a plus
  • Associate's Degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field.
Physical Requirements:
  • Prolonged sitting and computer use
  • Must be able to lift 15 pounds at times.
  • Must be able to commute to Coralville, IA on in-office days.
