Position Type: Support StaffDate Posted: 12/6/2024Location: 4 - Administrative Center - Human ResourcesDate Available: January 2025District: Naperville Community Unit School District 203 Job Title: HR Department Assistant (Records Clerk) Department: Human Resources Location: PSAC Position Reports to: Director of Human Resources Exemption Status Non-Exempt - 30 hours per week (M-F) Position Summary Perform duties to provide general assistance to the HR Dept. Essential Duties Background Checks and Filing - 50%
- Complete background checks using the LiveScan fingerprint machine.
- Decrypt and save returned background checks.
- Take employee ID pictures.
- Prepare new hire orientation meeting packets.
- Support HR staff in processing new hire employee forms, including updating files with missing documents.
- Maintain the personnel file room and electronic files, paying special attention to bulk filing received within the department.
Additional Responsibilities - 50%
- Manage the volunteer approval process
- Manager the contractor/contracted services background check process.
- Provide back up for receptionist for absences and during break times.
- Provide back up for mail sorting.
- Provide clerical assistance to the department as required.
Education and Experience
- High School Diploma or Equivalent
- 1-3 years of job related experience is preferred.
- Working knowledge of PC Tools: word processing, spreadsheets, accounting software, and database.
- Demonstrate proficiency using the technology and computer-based programs provided by the District.
- Use these programs to effectively manage and organize files, communication, records and databases.
Decision-Making Responsibility
- Work under direct supervision of Director of HR
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: 12 months; Non-Union position. Position is eligible for Benefits and IMRF participation. Starting Hourly Rate: $18.00
