As a Human Resources Business Specialist, you will be part of a team of 10 Human Resources Professionals supporting a County of approximately 500 employees. JOB SUMMARYThis role acts as a recruitment and selection program partner responsible for continually assessing and developing service while providing support to all departments. Provides technical and administrative support to the Human Resources Department, County managers, employees, and job applicants. Works as part of a team to develop and provide consistent and innovative human resources services. Exhibits the County's core competencies of communication, teamwork, integrity, service, and stewardship through job performance. Annual salary range of:
  • $46,641.09 - $61,904.96
  • This position is eligible for up to two salary raises within your first year. An Increase may be given at the end of the 6-month probationary period, depending on starting salary, and at the 1-year anniversary, as long as your performance is in good standing! Annual performance-based increases are given until the maximum of the salary range is reached.
  • Note: salary placement will be based on your level of directly related experience and education consistent with Oregon's pay equity law.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONSThe following minimum qualifications are required for this position:
  • Associate's degree or two-year technical certificate in Human Resources, Business Administration, or directly related field of study; AND
  • 2 years of experience in Human Resources, Administrative/Office Support, Customer Service, or closely related field.
An equivalent combination of education and experience may be accepted. Please note candidates must have at least 6 months of actual work experience to be considered as equivalent.The Ideal Candidate
  • Customer service experience.
  • Experience using a variety of software products, particularly those in the Microsoft Suite - Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Word.
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills.
  • Experience with website management and ability to effectively post and organize material in a professional manner.
  • Good skills in business writing and report preparation methods.
  • Communicate clearly both verbally and in writing.
  • Demonstrate a high attention to detail.
