Description & RequirementsCome join our family at In-N-Out Burger!We have an exciting opportunity for a full-time HR Compliance Supervisor based in Irvine, CA*!Reporting to the HR Compliance Manager, the HR Compliance Supervisor oversees and manages the implementation and adherence to employment laws affecting each phase of the Associate lifecycle, from recruitment to separation. This role requires close collaboration with HR, HRIS, Compensation, Payroll, Legal, and IT departments to ensure compliance across the organization. As the HR Compliance Supervisor, you will also lead a team-including the HR Compliance Specialist, HR Specialist, and HR Coordinators-who provide essential support for the department's administrative needs. *This role is full-time, in office only Responsibilities
  • Act as the Project Manager, partnering with HR Functional Leaders (e.g., Associate Relations, Talent Acquisition, Benefits, Compensation, HRIS) and other departments (e.g., Legal, Payroll, Risk) to audit, monitor, develop, and execute compliance programs, policies, and processes. Prepare executive summaries and project plans to effectively communicate and track compliance initiatives.
  • Oversee vendor relationships and contract management, negotiating with vendors to integrate technology solutions that meet current business needs.
  • Collaborate with Legal to stay updated on federal, state, and local employment regulations, including wage and hour laws, affecting multi-state Store & Support Associates.
  • Stay current on applicable laws governing background checks, such as FCRA and Fair Chance requirements, and supervise the Background Check process to ensure full compliance.
  • Manage the implementation of new policies and procedures, including the creation of communication and training materials. Educate Store and Support Leaders on employment law requirements and related company policies and processes.
  • Partner with Legal upon entry into new states to determine employment law requirements. Create and manage project plans for policy or system updates and produce training content for In-N-Out University and the LMS as necessary.
  • Lead in the research, development, drafting, publication, and distribution of the Associate handbook. Communicate and educate Store and Support Leaders on policy changes, updates and necessary system configuration changes.
  • Manage the company's compliance efforts, including regulatory reporting and filing. Respond to information requests from legal entities, such as EEOC/DFEH, and other regulatory agencies.
  • Review and update HR training materials as needed to ensure compliance training (e.g., AB1825, SB 1343, Mandated Reporter) meets regulatory standards.
  • Perform other job duties as needed.
Work Schedule + Benefits
  • Full-time, Exempt
  • Salary range: $110,000 - $137,500
  • The above represents the expected salary range for this job requisition. Ultimately, in determining your pay, we'll consider your experience and other job-related factors. This role is also eligible to participate in the Company bonus program.
  • Office Hours: Monday-Friday, 8:00 am-5:00 pm
  • Department needs may call for occasional overtime.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Human Resources, or a related field is required; PHR or SHRM-CP certification is preferred.
  • 5+ years of relevant experience in HR Compliance, Employment Law, or a related field.
  • 3+ years of supervisory experience with direct reports, demonstrating a proven ability to lead teams and foster professional development.
  • Advanced project management skills, including experience overseeing and implementing compliance programs and managing change initiatives across departments.
  • Proven track record in managing vendor relationships to support and drive compliance initiatives.
  • In-depth knowledge of federal and multi-state employment laws, with a strong understanding of relevant legislation and regulatory requirements.
  • Expertise in HR disciplines, such as recruitment, hiring, employee relations, wage and hour laws, minor employment regulations, and federal compliance.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to influence stakeholders at all levels, build strong cross-functional relationships, and collaborate effectively across teams.
  • Highly organized and detail-oriented, with a demonstrated ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
  • Skilled in delivering compliance updates and project reports to senior leaders and other stakeholders, ensuring clear and effective communication.
  • Strong analytical skills, capable of translating complex compliance data into actionable insights to enhance compliance efforts, supported by proficiency in data analytics and research.
  • Experienced in identifying compliance risks and implementing strategic mitigation measures that ensure regulatory adherence and protect organizational integrity.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, Microsoft 365 Teams, Oracle HCM, Asana, LMS, and Jira.
