Job Description: The Human Resource Generalist aids with and facilitates the human resource processes at all business locations. This role administers employee health and welfare plans and acts as liaison between employees and insurance providers. This position resolves benefits-related problems and ensures effective use of plans and positive employee relations. Works effectively with employees, management, executive management and outside contacts as required. Maintains confidentiality and security of all financial, personnel, and corporate records. Job Duties:
- Administers health and welfare plans, including enrollments, changes and terminations. Processes required documents through payroll and insurance providers to ensure accurate record-keeping and proper deductions.
- Coordinate open enrollments, changes, and training for employee benefits programs.
- Submit and approve 401k loans and withdrawals.
- Submit online DMV Pull Notices.
- Reconciles benefits statements.
- Interpret and explain human resources policies, procedures, standards, employment law or regulations.
- Performs customer service functions by answering employee requests and questions.
- Develops human resources solutions by collecting and analyzing information; recommending courses of action.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of federal and state employment law and compliance requirements.
- Confer with management to develop or implement personnel policies or procedures
- Respond to human resources-related inquiries.
- Create and distribute internal communications regarding status changes, benefits, or company policies.
- Completes special projects by clarifying project objective; setting timetables and schedules; conducting research; developing and organizing information; fulfilling transactions
- Conducts audits of benefits or other HR programs and recommends corrective action.
- Assists with processing of terminations.
- Assists with the preparation of the performance review process.
- Assists or prepares correspondence as requested.
- Developing constructive and cooperative working relationships with others inside and outside of the organization, and maintaining them over time
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
Job Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in human resources or related field and/or equivalent experience.
- At least 3-4 years related experience required.
- Must be able to maintain confidentiality, security, and represent the company well in situations involving other companies and government agencies
- SHRM-CP credential preferred. Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Working understanding of human resource principles, practices and procedures.
- Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
- Ability to function well in a high-paced and at times stressful environment.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
- High degree of accuracy, attention to detail, and confidentiality
- Must be available to drive for company related purposes as needed or upon request
- Must have a valid California driver license and favorable DMV record
Physical, Mental and Environmental Requirements:
- Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Must be able to lift 15 pounds at times.
