HR ManagerSeltzer's Smokehouse is looking for a highly skilled
HR Manager who is ready to join us as we head into a new chapter in our amazing story. With a renewed vision from our next generation CEO, the iconic Seltzer's brand is preparing for national expansion through innovation, creativity, and forward thinking.
Role: Reporting to the VP of Finance,and working directly with cross-functional senior leaders from all departments including the CEO, the
HR Manager will lead the way in employee relations, culture, and growth of Seltzer's Smokehouse Meats.
Some of your responsibilities will include:- Develop, administer, interpret, and update employee policies, processes, and training under the direction of Leadership, best practices, and employment regulations (federal, state, and local.)
- Manage end-to-end recruitment process, including working with hiring manager(s) to identify department needs, posting positions, screening resumes, scheduling and conducting interviews, overseeing applicant tracking, and developing and maintaining strong relationships/partnerships with appropriate schools, technical institutes and colleges, PA CareerLink, and temporary agencies. Coordinate with temporary agencies and management for staffing if necessary; Communicate with agency and management for shift assignments, start dates, and reconcile invoices.
- Responsible for coordination of full on-boarding process, including arranging start dates, preparing offer letters and new hire paperwork packet, pre-employment drug screens and physical assessments, conducting background checks, facilitating the orientation program, and coordinating the integration of new employees into the Company, their departments, and teams.
- Manage/Administer Payroll and related supporting functions
- Create and maintain electronic personnel files, safeguard traditional hard copy files.
- Schedule and conduct exit interviews; collect company property from terminating employees.
- Track and record HR metrics (e.g. turnover, cost of hire, etc.) and prepare various reports for Management.
- Oversee development and implementation of the following employee growth programs: performance evaluations, attendance bonuses, annual bonuses, and annual salary increases.
- Track/record all internal and external employee training in alignment with our Quality program.
- Oversee the entire benefits program, including the enrollment process, carrier feeds, and COBRA (work with external vendors.) Evaluate and recommend broker and carrier changes in the best interests of the Company.
- Manage and monitor employee leave administration, to include FMLA, leaves of absence, ADA accommodations, and Workers' Compensation programs. Monitor and manage Workers' Compensation cases; update and maintain OSHA logs.
- Oversee development and maintenance of feeds between HRIS and insurance carriers; audit and reconcile benefit invoices for accuracy.
- Develop and provide necessary training in areas such as Wellness, Unlawful Harassment, and other relevant programs.
- Effectively utilize capabilities of Human Resource Information System/Payroll to best manage relevant HR functions and provide data to supervisors/managers.
- Create and update job descriptions including, but not limited to, establishing market effective pay ranges.
- Coach and mentor supervisors and managers with respect to employee relations matters, including corrective actions, investigations, coaching, leaves of absence, etc.
- Monitors and ensures the organization's compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and recommends best practices; reviews and modifies policies and practices to maintain compliance.
- Maintains knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resources, talent management, and employment law; applies this knowledge to communicate changes in policy, practice, and resources to upper management.
- All other duties as assigned.
Education and Experience:- Bachelor's Degree in HR Management, Business Administration, or related field. Equivalent experience may be considered
- A minimum of five (5) years' HR generalist experience required; HR management experience in a manufacturing environment preferred
- In-depth Knowledge of employment laws and regulations and HR Practices
- Ability to resolve conflict, problem solve, and manage professional judgement
- Ability to demonstrate sound and professional judgment
- Excellent active listening, interviewing, and presentation skills
PHR/SHRM-CP or SPHR/SHRM-SCP certification(s) highly preferred (or ability to sit for the exam within a 6-month window)
Qualifications:- Strong computer skills, including proficiency using Microsoft Office (specifically Word, Excel, and PowerPoint); experience with TeamSuite/UKG and iSolved preferred
