What You'll Do

Payroll Management

  • Lead and oversee the biweekly multi-state payroll process for approximately 200 associates ensuring accuracy, compliance, and timely execution to meet associate and organizational needs
  • Develop and implement industry leading practices for payroll reporting to support external compliance requirements and strengthen internal financial controls
  • Drive financial alignment to the organization and department budget in partnership with Finance & Accounting team including managing exceptions and increasing automation
  • Establish and maintain state & local tax agency accounts including opening new accounts, responding to requests, resolving issues and overdue balances, pausing accounts as needed when staff headcount fluctuates

401(k) Plan Administration

  • Own and manage all aspects of 401(k) program including monitoring eligibility, supporting associate enrollment, ensuring compliance with tax regulations and alignment with relevant legislation (e.g. SECURE 2.0)
  • Oversee and manage external compliance efforts including annual 5500 filings and 401(k) audits, ensuring adherence to regulatory requirements

Compliance

  • Stay ahead of evolving payroll laws and regulations, ensuring compliance with payroll taxes, final pay & PTO payout requirements, FLSA guidelines, paid family leave, state disability, and other relevant labor laws
  • Conduct in-depth research on emerging employment legislation (e.g. pay transparency) and provide strategic recommendations to leadership on necessary policy updates

HRIS Oversight

  • Administer the company's Paylocity HRIS including managing payroll, benefits enrollment, integrations with third party platforms, tax configurations, associate changes and manage relationship with Paylocity through weekly meetings
  • Ensure data accuracy and integrity in Paylocity HRIS by implementing regular audit processes and continuous improvements
  • Build custom and complex reports to reflect payroll & benefits data and share emerging trends and takeaways with leadership

Other Responsibilities

  • Act as a trusted resource for associates by addressing and resolving inquiries with a focus on associate experience
  • Serve as integral member of the HR Operations team to lead and execute key strategic projects and initiatives

About You

  • 5+ years proven experience in payroll or HR operations position with increasing responsibility in a fast-paced environment
  • 3+ years of experience with corporate benefits
  • Strong knowledge of tax and wage laws across states
  • Highly skilled with Microsoft Excel
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to handle highly sensitive and confidential information with accuracy
  • Exceptional multi-tasking and organizational skills
  • Knowledge of Paylocity HRIS preferred
  • Experience with managing an HRIS transition project preferred
  • Bachelor's degree required
