The Human Resource/Payroll Specialist is responsible for human resources data integrity & recordkeeping, ensuring HRIS, time and attendance processing and records are complete and accurate. The role will also assist the Human Resource department in various HR matters such as creating and gathering documents and records to support communications, time and attendance, policy development, employee relations, and recordkeeping.
PRIMARY Duties/Responsibilities:
• Serves as Gatekeeper for HR and Payroll system data.
• Enters, maintains, and/or processes information in the HRIS and payroll system; information may include employee's hourly rates, salaries, commissions, bonuses or other compensation, time worked, paid leave and holidays, deductions and withholding, address changes, and other information.
• Ensures timecards are verified for accuracy prior to payroll processing.
• Ensures exceptions to assigned work schedules are properly recorded and processed according to policy.
• Generates monthly attendance reports for Kentucky Operations facilities.
• Creates reports of Time and Attendance reporting to HR leadership.
• Reviews and audits all HRIS system change requests and provides approval of workflows for the company. Verifies for accuracy.
• May update other systems for accurate data and recordkeeping purposes.
ADDITIONAL Duties/Responsibilities:
• Handles routine human resource inquiries related to policies & procedures; refers complex matters to appropriate Senior HR Manager or HR Director.
• Assists with recordkeeping related to Employee Life Cycle: hiring, termination, leave, transfer, and promotion as well as other recordkeeping for Human Resources and Payroll department.
• Assists with preparation of plans, policies, documents, and reports.
• Assists with preparation of documents and records required for meetings, and discussions with employees and the organization.
• Assists with all areas of HR including but not limited to: Communications, Compensation, Benefits, Recruiting, Payroll, Employee Relations, Recordkeeping and Reporting.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Education and Experience:
• Bachelor's degree in human resources, Business Administration, Psychology, or related field.
• Previous experience working with HRIS systems and managing workflow approvals is preferred.
• Previous experience with Time and Attendance is required.
• Previous experience in professional human resource administration required with experience in employee relations preferred.
• SHRM-CP or SHRM-SCP preferred.
Physical Requirements:
• Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
• Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
