Job Description :
Essential Duties1. Serves as an active member of the interdisciplinary team.2. Responsible for employee development and retention:a. Works with managers and supervisors to determine training needs and verify proper orientation and training programs are in place.b. Supports recruitment and retention initiatives.c. Assists department managers in conducting new hire surveys, exit interviews and routine employee satisfactions surveys.d. Conducts human resources related training.e. Tracks and coordinates employee performance evaluation process.f. Serves as an employee advocate.3. Responsible for employee recruitment and hiring process compliance:a. Administers HR policies and procedures regarding recruitment and selection of candidates.b. Pre-screens and interviews candidates as needed.c. Tracks and maintains applicant flow and internal posting/application process.d. Processes pre-employment paperwork (background checks, reference checks, drug tests, etc.)e. Facilitates and/or participates in New Hire Orientation Program for employees, volunteers, and agency staff.4. Responsible for employee record maintenance:a. Maintains employee personnel files and records to verify compliance with Facility policies, Federal and State laws and regulations.b. Prepares paperwork and processes new hires, status changes, and termination for timely and accurate record-keeping.5. Coordinates employee benefit enrollment.6. Actively participates on Safety Committee; may coordinate and track employee work-related injuries/accidents and completes weekly reporting as directed.7. Actively participates in resident rounds assignments, weekend manager program, and department head meetings as directed.8. Coordinates employee recognition and reward programs.9. Advises managers and supervisors on corrective counseling procedures per Facility policy; prepares and tracks corrective counseling documentation; and participates in employee disciplinary meetings and employee terminations.10. Processes payroll or serves as back-up.Standard Requirements1. Supports the Mission, Values and Vision of the Facility.2. Supports, cooperates with, and implements specific procedures and programs for: OSHA and safety, including universal precautions and safe work practices, established fire/safety/disaster plans, risk management, and security, report and/or correct unsafe working conditions, equipment repair and maintenance needs.4. Adheres to:a. Confidentiality of all data, including resident, employee and operations data.b. HIPAA regulationsc. Quality Assurance requirements and compliance with regulatory requirements.d. Compliance with current law and policy to provide a work environment free from sexual harassment and illegal and discriminatory behavior.e. Code of Conduct and Compliance Programs when performing job functions5. Supports and participates in common teamwork:a. Cooperates and works together with all co-workers; plans and completes job duties with minimal supervisory direction, including appropriate judgment.b. Uses tactful, appropriate communications in sensitive and emotional situations.c. Follows up as appropriate with supervisor, co-workers or residents regarding reported complaints, problems and concerns.d. Promotes positive public relations with residents, family members and guests.e. Completes requirements for in-service training, acceptable attendance, uniform and dress codes including personal hygiene, and other work duties as assigned.f. Participates as assigned in the orientation of new staff and demonstrates a positive, helpful, and enthusiastic attitude.6. Immediately reports incidents of alleged resident abuse or neglect or alleged violations of residents' rights to Supervisor or Executive Director.7. Maintains current practice standards or changes by participating in educational opportunities provided by the Facility and outside resources.Other DutiesPerform tasks which are supportive in nature to the essential functions of the job, but which may be altered or redesigned depending upon individual circumstances. Performs other work duties as assigned.QualificationsEducation/Training: Associates Degree or B.S. Degree in Human Resources or related field (or relevant professional experience to the position) preferred. A.D.A.A.A ((Americans with Disabilities Act) as amended) REQUIREMENTS:Must be able to bend, stoop, push, pull, and walk and stand for most of the working day. Requires manual dexterity sufficient to provide hands-on care to residents as well as to operate standard office machines such as fax, telephone, etc. Requires normal range of hearing and vision. Must be free from communicable diseases that post a direct threat to the health or safety of others and which cannot be eliminated by a reasonable accommodation. Must be able to lift a minimum of 30 pounds. Must be able to carry and transport supplies. Must be able to pass a post-offer, pre-employment physical health examination as a condition of employment. Must be capable of performing the essential functions of the job, with or without reasonable accommodation(s).Skill(s):Proficient reading, writing, grammar, and mathematics skills; proficient interpersonal relations and communicative skills; decision-making skill; basic computer skills; able to operate various office equipment; auditory and visual skills. Must be able to communicate in English, both verbally and in writing, and possess sufficient communication skills to perform the tasks required.Experience: A minimum of one year experience in human resources related function preferred; experience with recruiting, staffing, recognition, workers compensation and policy interpretation preferred.
