Job Description :
The role of HR Specialist is responsible for monitoring all HR functions, preparing compensation and benefits packages, setting up company policies, and maintaining updated employee records. The HR Specialist will be expected to complete the following tasks: Gaining Stakeholder Support for HR Initiatives, HR Department Policy & Procedure Evaluation & Implementation, Performance Review Process Management, Compensation & Benefits Review & Preparation plus Employee Assistance, Assist with Employee Relations, Organization of HR Events (Internal), and Management of Recruiting & Staffing. The HR Specialist is required to be versatile within an administrative environment and learn how to use various equipment and systems as required. Development of the following skills will be expected: Employee Conflict Resolution, Worker Comp Investigations, Reviews & Revises Standard Operating Procedures, Manages Workplace Investigations, Assists in Disciplinary Actions, Conducts Employee Terminations, Handles Unemployment Requests, Supervises HR Personnel, Manages Hiring, On-boarding, and Orientation Process. Responsibilities:
  • Independently completes all tasks expected of an HR Assistant: Perform Administrative Duties, Maintain Hard Copy and Digital Records Confidentially, Assist in Policy Formulation, Support the Interview Process, Produce HR Activity Reports, Assist with HR Projects.
  • Independently completes all tasks expected of an HR Generalist: Assist in Conflict Resolution, Compliance Documentation & Regulation, HR Documentation (Internal & External), Data Collection & Analysis, Candidate Review & Recruitment, and HR Best Practices.
  • Create, implement, and evaluate all HR department policies, procedures, and structures.
  • Design and implement effective training and development plans as needed.
  • Manage the performance review process and assist with performance reviews (annual, bi-annual, 30/60/90-day).
  • Prepares and reviews compensation and benefits packages to ensure compliance and internal equity.
  • Advises management in appropriate resolution of employee relations situations.
  • Project management and completion of HR projects approved by upper management.
  • Manages and organizes HR related company events and gatherings.
  • Provides information to employees regarding benefits, insurance, and retirement plans.
  • Liaisons with recruiting agencies and staffing vendors as directed.
  • Advertises job openings across multiple channels.
  • Creates interview guides and questionnaires specific to open roles.
  • Conducts phone and onsite interviews with eligible candidates.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in HR or related field, or equivalent industry experience.
  • 5+ years of experience in Human Resources
  • Must have strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Must have a high level of emotional intelligence.
  • Must understand the importance and necessity of confidentiality.
  • Must have excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Must possess strong conflict resolution skills.
  • Must have thorough knowledge of employment laws and regulations.
  • Must have the ability to prioritize and delegate tasks as needed.
  • Must be able to work comfortably under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
  • Must keep up to date with the latest HR trends and best practices.
  • Must have strong knowledge of labor legislation and payroll processes.
  • Must be able to encourage and garner support from stakeholders when necessary.
  • Must be capable of resourceful and creative thought processes when faced with challenges and opposition.
  • Must have solid understanding of HRIS and ATS systems.
