We look for colleagues who Care, Dare and Deliver.JOB SUMMARY:The primary function of the HR Specialist is to assist the Human Resources Manager in administering various human resource programs, including, but not limited to Attendance, Discipline, Employee Relations, Compensation, Records Retention, Benefits, Worker's Compensation, Short and Long Term Disability, Recruitment, policies and procedures, Employee Opinion survey administration, communications, retirement preparation, and company events for all employees while ensuring compliance with applicable Federal and State labor laws.ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
  • Absenteeism - logging, sending to Mgrs., discipline
  • Insurance Claims and issues (STD, Life Ins., medical/dental, annual enrollments, etc.)
  • Employee record keeping and filing (seniority, pay, addresses, benefits, etc.)
  • Responsible for insurances, billing, etc. for all hourly retirees
  • Maintain Internal Bidding system for hourly employees
  • Hiring - Full-time /Seasonal (job advertisement, orientation, Workday, UKG, benefits, background checks, etc.)
  • Headcount reporting (temporaries)
  • End of month reporting for PACE union and salaried and corporate headcount
  • Administer Employee Service Award program
  • Webster Baird Scholarship fund
  • Provide Negotiations support.
  • Administer Donations Program for local community
  • Coordinate Manpower Services
  • Affirmative Action Plan data gathering and reporting
  • Mass Mailings to employees and retirees regarding benefits, etc.
  • Other duties as assigned
MININIMUM ACCEPTABLE QUALIFICATIONS:
  • 3-5 years' experience in Human Resources
  • Associate's or bachelor's degree in Human Resources or relevant experience.
  • Administrative and clerical - 5 years
  • Word processing/Microsoft Office Software - demonstrated proficiency
  • Communications Skills - Manufacturing Environment
ADDITIONAL DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Good communication skills, verbal, non-verbal and written
  • Must be organized and be able to work on their own
  • Ability to prioritize
  • Multi-tasking skills
  • Confidentiality
  • Ability for maintaining accuracy while dealing with numerous interruptions
  • Requires lifting/carrying up to 10 lbs. on a regular basis and occasionally up to 25 lbs.
