Deine Aufgaben Position Summary: The HSE Specialist works with the Health, Safety, Environmental and Quality Department to plan, direct, and implement Syntegon's HSE and Quality management programs and to ensure a positive, safe, healthy, and incident-free work environment. They are responsible for compliance with all safety, environmental and quality regulatory agencies. While having a general knowledge company-wide, this position will focus on compliance monitoring and reporting in all areas of the company. This position would also respond to emergency situations when they arise and will support HSE and Quality operations and staff to foster a zero-tolerance culture and ensure compliance. Essential Functions: Maintaining accurate daily, weekly, and monthly metrics to report to onsite management teams and corporate based reporting systems Facilitate organization and leadership development efforts to address the root cause of HSE related issues. Coach management and employees at all levels to ensure compliance with all HSE program expectations and applicable federal & state laws Conducting risk assessments related to jobs performed by employees and suggests risk mitigation strategies through the Job Safety Analysis process Recommending and implementing appropriate risk mitigation measures to management, including ergonomics Training and assisting others (managers, employees, etc.) to complete their safety and compliance responsibilities (audits, follow safety rules, etc.) Conducting appropriate inspections and audits, and ensuring corrective actions are monitored and documented Maintains employee files (HSE related training, incident investigations) Enforcing compliance of HSE and transportation programs Completing and documenting all regulatory compliance activities through the HSE Calendar according to regulatory deadlines Completing, documenting, and submitting required HSE reports and recordkeeping information Conducting HSE training as needed, including new employee and contractor orientation Responding to and investigating events including injuries and near-miss events. Drive closure of effective corrective / preventive actions, as assigned Providing managers with regulatory information and direction to ensure compliance with external / internal audits and Federal, State, Local EHS regulations Preparing environmental compliance reports and permits Updating Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) Respond to emergency situations when they arise Handling employee concerns / suggestions as they relate to HSE Representing the company with regulatory agencies such as OSHA Perform other duties, as assigned, in support of the HSE Strategic Plan Participating in company HSE committees Dein Profil Basic Qualifications: Minimum Associate's Degree Required Certification in Occupational Health and Safety (e.g., CSP, CIH) Minimum of 2 years of experience in a similar HSE role Preferred Requirements: Bachelor's degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Science, or a related field preferred In-depth understanding of local, state, and federal HSE regulations Familiarity with risk assessment methodologies and incident investigation techniques Excellent communication skills including written, verbal, listening, and customer service skills with the ability to effectively communicate with and work well with others in order to manage projects, meetings Have strong interpersonal skills with the ability to influence people and drive change Exceptional organizational skills with a high consideration to detail Must possess time management skills and have the ability to meet deadlines Works well independently and in a group environment Has the ability to deliver internal training effectively Has critical thinking and problem-solving skills but is able to understand the departments overall objectives Must be able to be entrusted with confidential information Familiar with using various office equipment, computers and various programs including Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, Excel, networking and cloud-based systems. HSE Technical Expertise Actively seeks out and improves, health & safety and regulatory knowledge Understanding of ISO14001, ISO45001 and Health and Safety practices Understanding of OSHA regulations Works with superiors to analyze and prioritize critical problems accurately and quickly; and is highly collaborative Works with superiors to analyze data, recognize meaningful test results, interpret results, and present the results in an appropriate way to different types of audiences Time Management Needs to use time to their advantage, needs to be able to manage a variety of given tasks, avoid procrastination, prioritize tasks in line with regulatory, department, company deadlines and goals Includes day-to-day tasks, multi-phase projects, investigations, along with internal and external customer requests Communication Effective communication is a critical skill in order to communicate applicable Health, Safety and Environmental regulatory requirements and company policies, procedures, work instructions, and much more. Ability to deliver internal HSE training and effectively as determined by the competency results Communication on HSE topics is of the highest caliber; clear and accurate Task Oriented HSE Specialist is a task driven position. This means the position is dedicated to fulfilling the tasks provided by the Quality/HSE Department. Timely completion of tasks that align with Syntegon goals; implements reliable, effective metrics to measure outcomes; models accountability; thinks of innovative ways to spread awareness of Company and HSE Policies and best practices. The expected compensation range for this position is between $85,000 - 92,000 based on a full-time schedule. Compensation for roles at Syntegon varies depending on a wide array of non-discriminatory factors including but not limited to the specific office location, role, degree/credentials, relevant skill set, and level of relevant experience.
