Hourly range: $21.50 per hour to $26.00 • You are uninspired by the corporate-America model, but love building strong coworker relationships while wearing jeans • You are committed to the best Customer Service on the planet, and all the other employees in the company are your customers • You enjoy seeing how your work impacts the organization • You love accomplishing your daily task list as much as you love dogs Requirements Summary: The Human Resource Assistant will be responsible for supporting all administrative functions within the Human Resources department, ensuring a smooth and positive experience for all employees and candidates. This role includes onboarding, offboarding, Workers' Compensation, orientation, sales car lease program, report generation, and the maintenance of employee records. The HR Assistant will act as a point of contact for candidates and employees, serving as a Forney Ambassador who represents the company values of Be Engaged, Be Innovative, Be Genuine, and Be Exceptional. The position will involve maintaining a high level of confidentiality, sensitivity, and professionalism while fostering a supportive atmosphere that values individuals as our most important asset. This role will maintain a high level of confidentiality and sensitivity. Position based at the Corporate HQ in Fort Collins, CO. Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Administer all onboarding/offboarding processes paperwork
  • Facilitate pre-employment screenings for potential candidates
  • Maintain all employee related files in both paper and electronic formats
  • Assist in ensuring that all HR activities comply with Federal, State, and safety regulations (i.e. Labor Posters, auditing the I-9's, updating the payroll company regarding garnishments, etc.)
  • Report Workers' Compensation first report of injury to the insurance company
  • Assure the OSHA 300 log is current and accurate
  • Assist in planning employee incentive programs, employee service awards and other employee events
  • Respond to employee background checks and employment verifications
  • Schedule rooms and food coordination for employee training
  • Assist in facilitating Fleet Car Program
  • Purchase weekly Breakfast Wednesday food
  • Facilitate monthly birthday program, anniversary awards and other special events
  • Complete monthly reports and reports upon request
  • Serve as HRIS subject expert
  • Other duties as assigned
Education and/or Experience:
  • High School Diploma required; Associate degree or equivalent work experience preferred.
  • Experience in HR related areas such as Labor Law, I-9 administration, workers' compensation administration garnishment and support orders desired
  • Minimum 3 years' experience in a Human Resource Assistant role or equivalent administrative assistant experience required
Other Skills and Abilities: • Ability to plan and organize; strong attention to detail • Ability to communicate effectively, using good judgment, tact and discretion • Have the ability and confidence to influence and provide direction on basic HR matters • Advanced knowledge of MS Office (Outlook, Word, Excel) • Expert knowledge of HRIS user environment • Capability to interact with all levels of staff while maintaining a high level of confidentiality and sensitivity • Highly professional and able to use good judgment and discretion • Customer service experience, providing support to both internal employees and external candidates Eagerness to work independently as well as part of a team with flexibility and willingness to learn and take initiative on a variety of tasks and projects Language & Mathematical Skills: Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, employment law, and garnishment letters. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ration, and percent. Reasoning Ability: Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or virtual on-line classroom. Must be a self-starter and able to perform tasks without direct supervision. Demonstrate accuracy and thoroughness and monitors own work to ensure quality.
