Human Resource Generalist

Job Title: Human Resource Generalist

Job Brief:

  • The HR Generalist plays a critical role in managing and supporting the daily operations of the HR department. This position involves tasks across employee relations, orientation, compliance, and other HR-related areas. The HR Generalist works closely with employees and management to foster a positive work environment and align HR practices with district business goals.

Location: Lincoln Education Center

  • $14.50/hr.
  • 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.

Days Per Year:

  • 12-month hourly position. This position is eligible for benefits.
  • Vision and dental insurance are available for employees working 17.5 hours/week.
  • Health is available for employees working at least 30+/week with a value of district contributions of $7,788 per year.
  • Retirement Plan options available for employees working at least 17.5 hours/week.
  • Short-term disability available for employees working at least 17.5 hours/week.

Qualifications:

  • Associates degree or higher.
  • Ability to work well with other employees and the public.
  • Strong people skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong communication skills both orally and in writing.
  • Proficient in technology solutions to support data management.
  • Human resource experience preferred.

Reports To:

  • Director of Human Resources.
  • Performance of this job will be evaluated annually in accordance with the provisions of the Board's policy on the evaluation of classified personnel.

Job Duties:

  • Welcome visitors to the Human Resources office.
  • Have a general knowledge of all operations within the Human Resources office and be able to share that general knowledge with visitors or refer them to the correct resource.
  • Coordinate and assist with various processes including hiring substitutes, unemployment, workers' compensation, and employee wellness forms.
  • Create and replace employee badges for all employees as needed.
  • Assist and maintain status change/new hire forms.
  • Complete verification forms, reports, notices, and letters with designated information.
  • Assist with maintaining and filing all required paperwork.
  • Perform other tasks and duties as assigned by the Director of Human Resources.

FLSA Status: Non-Exempt.
