ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS (May perform some or all of the following)Recruiting-Under direction from the HR Director, the HR Specialist assists with the recruiting efforts of WBH. This includes updating job postings, screening questions, offer letter templates, maintaining the applicant tracking system (ATS) and ensuring a smooth flow of job applicants and a high quality applicant experience. Responsible for processing recruitment requests and posting of jobs with a focus on attracting candidates of various backgrounds.The HR Specialist collects the job applications in the ATS system, and performs initial screening of applicant qualifications. This position will assist the recruiting team in coordinating internally with the hiring managers to interview and select the most qualified applicants for each posted position. Attends career fairs and other events in the community to educate and drive awareness for employment opportunities at Wasatch Behavioral Health. Responsible for creating and sending of offer letters to selected candidates as necessary; Maintains applicant and EEO data as required.RetentionThe HR Specialist acts as a point of contact for WBH in regards to Student Loan Forgiveness resources. This includes becoming familiar with the requirements of various programs including the National Health Service Core (NHSC), Utah State Health care workforce Financial Assistance Program (HCWFAP), Public Service Loan Forgiveness (PSLF), WBH forgivable loan program, etc. Prepares reports for participants and assists in applications as required.Creates educational materials and promotes/administer various other WBH incentives/ programs such as the Spanish Language Stipend, Employee Wellness Programs, etc.May administer approved employment related surveys to staff and prepares recommendations based on the responses received. Administers Employee Exit Surveys and reports on patterns/trends to enhance employee retention at WBH.The HR Specialist will be a driving force in helping the organization be a welcoming and friendly environment for allHR Specialist, Page 2 of 2staff and clients. The HR Specialist will lead initiatives in the areas of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion to further these goals. Develops specific plans based on observations and other data sources and makes recommendations for improvement to management. Participates in a lead role in the agency's DEI committee, and coordinates efforts across the center. Attends community and other events to promote behavioral health services to a broad spectrum of clients. This position will also liaison with the Office of Substance and Mental Health, and other stakeholders in the local area with respect to diversity and inclusion efforts.Performs related duties as required.MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS1. Education and Experience:A. Graduation from high school plus (2) years of college level coursework, or one (1) year of specialized training in general office practices and procedures, PC operation and various software applications;ANDB. One (1) year of responsible experience related to above duties;ORC. An equivalent combination of education and experience.ANDD. Demonstrated software proficiencyE. Preference given for individuals with lived experience as an under-represented minority and/or significant passion for DEI&B activities2. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:Working knowledge of general office maintenance and practices; filing systems (alpha and numeric), recording and filing procedures and methodologies; letter composition, grammar, spelling and punctuation; operation of word processing and spreadsheet applications; operation of standard office equipment; basic mathematics; basic accounting or bookkeeping; interpersonal communication skills and telephone etiquette; basic public relations.Ability to be a a self started, innovative, communicate effectively, verbally and in writing; work independently in meeting various time deadlines and work pressures; perform basic mathematical calculations; maintain strict confidentiality related to sensitive administrative information; operate personal computer (Windows) in utilizing various programs (MS Word, Excel, Great Plains, etc.) to produce or compose formal documents, reports and records; operate standard office equipment; develop effective working relationships with supervisors, fellow employees, and the public. Must be detail oriented.3. Special Qualifications:Keyboard skills as determined for the position. Preference given for HR certification (aPHR, PHR, SPHR, SHRM-CP or SHRM-SCP).4. Work Environment:Typical office setting with appropriate climate controls. Tasks require variety of physical activities, not generally involving muscular strain, but do require frequent walking, standing, stooping, sitting, reaching, talking, hearing and seeing. Common eye, hand, finger dexterity required for may tasks.
