Job Description :
Job title Human Resources Assistant/Generalist Reports to Corporate Human Resources Manager Job purpose: Responsible for effectively running the daily functions of the Human Resource (HR) department including hiring and interviewing staff, benefits, and leave, and enforcing company policies and practices. Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Reviews, tracks, and documents compliance with mandatory and non-mandatory training, continuing education, and work assessments.
  • Recruits, interviews, and facilitates the hiring of qualified job applicants for open positions; collaborates with departmental managers to understand skills and competencies required for openings.
  • Conducts or acquires background checks and employee eligibility verifications.
  • In conjunction with HR Manager, implement new hire orientation and team member recognition programs.
  • Handles employment-related inquiries from applicants, team members, and supervisors, referring complex and/or sensitive matters to the Human Resources Manager.
  • Attends and participates in employee disciplinary meetings, terminations, and investigations.
  • Maintains compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and recommended best practices; reviews policies and practices to maintain compliance.
  • Other duties as assigned by HR Manager.

  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and to delegate them when appropriate.
  • Ability to act with integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality.
  • Thorough knowledge of employment-related laws and regulations.
  • Must have flexibility with work schedule.
Education and Experience:
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • At least 2 years of human resource management experience.
Physical Requirements:
  • Prolonged periods of sitting in an office environment.
  • Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds at times.
  • Must be able to work, access and navigate each department at the facility.
