About the Role:
The primary responsibility of the People Partner is to perform and execute all routine Human Resource functions: employee relations, engagement, performance, recruiting, compensation, benefit administration, policies and procedures, training, learning and development, compliance and company culture. The People Partner will develop, engage in and maintain trusting business relationships to grow and scale the business and will be a part of the executive leadership team at Wathco.
Responsibilities:
- Employee Experience and Engagement: implement a bi-annual and/or annual engagement surveys and performance review process (retain staff and conduct succession planning)
- Recruiting: prep, source, screen, interview and hire employees by developing and maintaining a talent strategy and process
- Compensation and Benefits: analyze trends in compensation and benefits to ensure the company is competitive in its offerings to attract and retain talent
- Policies and Procedures: review, update and implement various policies and procedures (employee handbook, travel and expense policy, time off policy, parental leave policy, employee referral program, etc)
- Organizational Development: strategically review and implement business practices, systems, and techniques that affect organizational change
- Onboarding and Off-boarding: onboard and train new hires (new hire orientation) and off-board terminated employees appropriately and timely
- Training: create learning and development programs and initiatives and a new hire onboarding and/or training/mentorship program
- Employee Relations: provide support and guidance to employees, handle disciplinary actions and investigations, including but not limited to workers compensation, legality and compliance
- Compliance: maintains compliant with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, recommends best practices, reviews policies and implements an annual compliance training program
- Payroll: conduct weekly payroll in Quickbooks

Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree
- 5+ years experience in a HR/People Operations role
- Construction industry experience or knowledge required
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to act with integrity, professionalism and confidentiality
- Demonstrated ability to work cross-functionally, quickly and can prioritize
Nice to Have:
- Technically savvy with an understanding of Microsoft365
- Proficiency with or the ability to quickly learn new systems (*will be responsible for implementing the companies first HRIS system*)
