PRIMARY FUNCTION: As a Human Resources Coordinator, you will play a crucial role in streamlining the onboarding process for new hires. Your responsibilities will include scheduling and facilitating new hire orientations, ensuring proper documentation, and supporting recruiters with essential pre-employment tasks for our hourly employees. You will also serve as an initial point of contact for current employees and walk-in applicants, providing clerical support to the HR team.

RESPONSIBILITIES AND TASKS:

  • Schedule and conduct new hire orientation sessions to familiarize employees with Company policies and procedures, ensuring all paperwork is accurate and entered into Workday.
  • Coordinate and follow up on onboarding tasks to guarantee timely completion and data entry.
  • Verify rehire status at application and manage historical records within Workday and other databases.
  • Collaborate with the recruiting team to schedule orientations, paperwork completion, and job previews, fostering a positive experience for new hires.
  • Screen candidates for job bids, assist recruiters in scheduling interviews, and facilitate the presentation of offer letters for successful candidates.
  • Welcome walk-in applicants, address their inquiries about HR policies or programs, and direct them to HR team members when necessary.
  • Conduct various departmental tasks including badging, resolving social security issues, assisting with I-9 documentation, and Pay Card administration.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvements to enhance efficiency within the HR functions.
  • Promote a culture of safety by adhering to safety protocols and encouraging others to do the same.
  • Support employee engagement initiatives as requested.
  • Perform other relevant duties as assigned.

SUPERVISOR RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • This is an individual contributor role with no supervisory responsibilities, requiring competencies such as: Functional/Technical Skills, Action Oriented, Problem Solving, Learning on the Fly, and Interpersonal Savvy.

EDUCATION and CERTIFICATIONS:

  • High School diploma or equivalent.

EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS:

  • Proven clerical experience; prior experience in human resources is highly preferred.
  • Proficient in Microsoft applications (Word, Excel, Outlook) with experience in Workday or similar HCM systems preferred.
  • Effective communication skills in English, both verbal and written; multilingual ability is a plus.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, confidentiality, and the ability to work collaboratively.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and organizational abilities to prioritize tasks effectively.
  • Self-motivated with a sense of urgency, capable of thriving in a fast-paced environment.

SAFETY REQUIREMENTS:

  • Adhere to and promote departmental and company safety policies.
  • Wear required protective equipment in designated areas.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Ability to remain seated for extended periods.
  • Willingness to work flexible hours, including holidays, weekends, and extended shifts as needed.
