DescriptionGENERAL FUNCTION: Under the direction of the Associate Vice President of Human Resources, the HR Coordinator will provide professional human resources support for the association. This position will be responsible for performing analytical and administrative work for daily human resources activities, disseminating pertinent information related to HR activities; serving as a subject matter expert for HR related questions, and assuring training and compliance requirements are met for staff. MINIMUM ENTRY REQUIREMENTS:Education/Experience Requirements:
Minimum 1 year relevant work experience in HR preferred Bachelor's Degree in related field preferred Accredited HR Certification (PHR, SHRM-CP) preferred Knowledge of UKG HRIS preferred Must have knowledge and understanding of regulations, industry trends, current practices, new developments, and applicable laws regarding human resources. Physical/Mental Requirements: Must be able to routinely perform the following physical activities; climb stairs, bend, stoop, kneel, twist, reach with hands, sit, stand and/or sit for extended periods of time, walk, lift and/or move up to 30 pounds, have finger dexterity, grasp, perform repetitive motions, talk, hear and have visual acuity to perform detailed tasks Must possess a high-level ability to ensure and maintain confidentiality when working with sensitive information. Must have ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing Must possess problem solving, organizational and task management skills; ability to make independent and sound decisions in a rapidly changing environment Must be detail oriented and exhibit a high degree of accuracy and alertness Must exhibit initiative in the absence of supervision Must be able to relate to and work with diverse groups of people in a friendly and consistent manner Must work collaboratively as a team member as well as independently and lead by assigned goals, duties and deadlines Must possess ability to exercise high levels of discretion and confidentiality Maintain a neat and professional appearance at all times Job Requirements: Commitment to the YMCA mission, vision and values Must attend New Employee Orientation within 30 days of hire Learn all emergency procedures and action plans for the branch Understand and abide by all policies and procedures as set forth by the association Work a schedule that reflects the needs of the branch, possible weekends and evenings on occasion JOB RESPONSIBILITIES: Filing - responsible for timely, accurate, and organized filing for all HR documents, including employee records, applications, correspondence, and other legal documents. Recruiting - responsible for assisting with the recruiting process; posting and closing job requisitions, maintaining recruiting data, and coordinating and attending recruiting events both internally and with high schools and colleges. Training & Compliance - organize materials for safety and aquatics trainings, reserve rooms, and maintain inventory for association trainings. Data Entry and Reports - responsible for entering employee information into HR databases and spreadsheets ensuring data accuracy and integrity of information (SafestHires, Collabornation, LCDC, ASHI, UKG). Run monthly reports to track statistical data. Volunteerism - post volunteer opportunities to United Way and Volunteer Kansas websites. Maintain history log of volunteer applications. Reconcile invoices for volunteer background checks. Update training requirements in various systems and conduct seasonal audits to ensure compliance. Name Tag Creation - responsible for preparing and disseminating name tags for new hires, employees, and visitors, with no more than 48-hours turn-around. Employment Verifications - responsible for processing employment verification requests for current and former employees. Fingerprinting - responsible for assisting childcare and camp branches with fingerprinting for KDHE as needed. Strong Community Campaign - supporting the campaign by volunteering time, asking for donations, and other duties as requested. All other duties as assigned. EFFECT ON END RESULT:The association will be supported through efficient, accurate, and timely internal customer service ensuring smooth, daily operations and achievement of the mission.
