HIRING!!!! My AMAZING Client is hiring for a Director of People & Culture to join their HR team. The ideal candidate will be a dedicated leader who takes initiative, is focused, and driven to support their mission. This role will be pivotal in transforming the HR function to be seen as a partner for research, education and outreach teams, providing value-added resources. Not just looking for someone to manage their HR team, but someone who has the initiative to LEAD it! A dynamic leader to elevate their HR function as a strategic partner within the organization. The ideal candidate will effectively market HR as a key player in driving departmental and team success. Responsibilities:

  • Lead the HR department, setting direction and establishing priorities to align with and support the company's mission and goals
  • Develop and implement effective recruitment strategies to grow our research and education teams by attracting leading scientists and educators in the space and Earth sciences.
  • Build and maintain relationships with universities, research institutions, corporate partners, and professional associations.
  • Develop and implement HR strategies and initiatives that promote a positive, inclusive, and collaborative work environment.
  • Oversee the recruitment, onboarding, and retention of top talent, with a focus on diversity, equity, inclusion, and access (DEIA).
  • Expand their science and education sectors by recruiting/attracting individuals who bring their own research and education grants and projects
  • Provide leadership and guidance to the HR team, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and professional development.
  • Provide leadership and guidance to research, education, outreach and administrative staff to be seen as a valuable resource and partner
  • Ensure compliance with all employment laws and regulations.
  • Develop onboarding programs to ensure the successful integration of new employees with particular focus on remote scientists and staff
  • Manage employee relations, addressing issues and conflicts with a compassionate and solutions-oriented approach.
  • Collaborate with senior leadership to develop and implement organizational policies and procedures.
  • Take initiative in identifying and addressing HR-related challenges and opportunities.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field. Advanced degree preferred
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in HR, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership role
  • Strong understanding of HR best practices and employment laws.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal and team-building skills
  • Proven ability to lead and inspire both subordinates and colleagues
  • Experience working in a non-profit environment is a plus
  • Background in academia, technology, or research is highly desirable
  • Demonstrated commitment to DEIA principles
  • Ability to take initiative, set direction, and drive results
  • Ability to market HR as critical team member to core business centers
