Job Description :

We are seeking a fully on-site Director of Human Resources (HR Director) for Standard-Madison Electric, based in either Warren or Saginaw, MI. The HR Director will collaborate with executive and line managers to align business strategy with opportunities to enhance organizational effectiveness and productivity. Key responsibilities include developing and implementing human capital strategies to foster growth, innovation, talent attraction, development, and retention. The HR Director will also drive and communicate corporate initiatives (Sonepar) across the organization. This role focuses on understanding the Standard-Madison Electric business segment, integrating into Sonepar, and supporting the people strategies for nearly 600 union and non-union employees across 36 locations.

The HR Director will be expected to split their time across both the Warren and Saginaw locations.

What You Will Do:

Partners with executive leaders and people managers to support the drive for top talent while implementing best practices for Talent Attraction, Employee & Organizational Development, and Change Management.

Partners and advise the leadership team in the 5- year Strategic Planning process.Develops and supports plans and programs to ensure that the organization achieves its strategic goals.

Supports the organization's business practices by maintaining in-depth knowledge of legal requirements related to day-to-day management of employees, reducing legal risks, and ensuring regulatory compliance.

Leads the implementation of HR programs in collaboration with local leadership and Sonepar from hire to retire; monitor administration to standards; identify opportunities & risks, resolve discrepancies for effective and efficient operations.

Provides day-to-day performance management guidance to line management (e.g., coaching, counseling, career development, hiring/selection, disciplinary actions).

Conducts and/or facilitates training on HR-related topics such as performance management, leadership, interviewing, HR policies, etc.

Coach, mentors and develops HR associates across a variety of disciplines.

What You Bring:

Bachelor's degree in related fields, Master degree and/or SPHR is preferred

8+ years of progressive strategic Business Partner experience

Experience supporting and partnering with executive leaders, line managers and associates across a decentralized organizational model

Experience supporting a combined union and non-unionized workforce

Strong business acumen, HR, and Organization Development expertise with proficiency in multiple disciplines within HR

Demonstrated knowledge of state and federal employment laws

Time management and organizational skills necessary to manage multiple projects, appropriately prioritize workload, plan for resources to meet deadlines and goals, and work independently in responding to day-to-day functional needs

Strong verbal and written communication skills necessary to explain complex and/or confidential information to all levels of management

Comfortable working on-site across two major facilities, travel approximately 15% to local branch locations

Authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship now or in the future

Preferred Experience:

Experience partnering and supporting organizations within the Trades, Distribution, Chemical or Wholesale industries

Experience working across all SAP Success Factors platforms

Experience partnering with leaders, line managers and associates through an acquisition and integration process
