This job works Mon-Fri, 8am - 5pm.The Human Resources Generalist I position performs a variety of Human Resources support activities and administrative services. The Human Resources Generalist I's daily tasks consist of supporting the Human Resources functions through gathering, analyzing, problem solving, maintaining various personnel data and personnel actions pertaining to staffing, leave/benefit operational duties, and administrative duties while adhering to employment-related laws and regulations. Position operates in a team environment with a Human Resources Administrator as facilitator of the overall determination of outcomes and of tasks performed.Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities This position has the following expectations and prerequisite abilities.
  • Knowledge of basic Human Resources principles, process and procedure.
  • Knowledge and proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
  • Demonstrated skills in analysis and problem-solving.
  • Proficiency with or the ability to learn NEOGov, Business+, and/or Absence Management.
  • Attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and consistent follow-through on tasked duties.
  • Promotion of equity and diversity in all settings and understanding and commitment to anti-racists principles.
  • Maintain a high level of confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA, FERPA and adherence to the competent and ethical educator practices.
  • Maintain compliance with state and federal laws governing all aspects of our agency including ORS, OAR, IDEA, FOIA, and CIPA.
  • Exceptional prioritization of tasks, timely completion of work assignments, ability to take the initiative and work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Demonstrates respectful, flexible and effective teambuilding skills of cooperation, communication and active participation.
  • Present self and ESD4J in a professional manner including: in oral and written communication, professional disposition when working with others and maintaining professional dress standards.
  • Ability to understand and follow oral and written directives, find requested data and present in user-friendly formats for internal and public distribution.
  • Maintain regular attendance at work. Be punctual in meeting deadlines, attending meetings, and following schedules.
  • Utilize teleservice platform to provide services to educators, students and district staff as directed.
  • Ability to lift, carry at least 25 pounds.
  • Ability to sit for extended periods of time in a vehicle or work setting.
  • Minimum Qualifications
    • An Associate's degree in a related field
    • Two years of experience performing human resources support/operational duties
    • Familiarity with federal and state laws which affect benefit, leave, and insurance plan administration
    • OR An equivalent combination of training and experience.
    Preferred Qualifications
    • Prior experience working in an educational setting
