HUMAN RESOURCES GENERALIST

POSITION SUMMARY

Responsible for providing HR support across various functions, including full-cycle recruitment, pre-employment, onboarding, employee relations, performance management and execution of HR strategies, policies, and initiatives. Participate in and/or lead HR related projects, community events, and job fairs, collaborating with Leadership and the HR Manager.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Prepare the onboarding process for new hires, ensuring a seamless integration into the company and site.
  • Collaborate with the management team to understand their hiring needs and partner with them to develop effective labor force plans.
  • Manage recruitment efforts, including job postings, candidate sourcing, interviews, and selection processes.
  • Sets expectations and provides advice and expertise in all areas of recruitment and staffing (e.g., search firms, advertising, job fairs, career paths.)
  • Manage and own the new employee orientation process in collaboration with the other districts.
  • Manage full-cycle recruitment as well as the onboarding and offboarding of employees.
  • Partner with management to ensure accountability is enforced as it relates to attendance and performance.
  • Advises management team on policies and procedures to ensure adherence to company policies for initiating reviews, disciplinary and recruitment decisions.
  • Provide guidance to managers and employees, offering support and expertise in resolving HR issues.
  • Assist the HR Manager with employee relations matters by addressing concerns, conducting investigations, and mediating conflicts to promote a positive work environment.
  • Administer employee benefits, medical insurance, and 401(k) plans.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of employment laws and regulations, ensuring compliance in HR practices and policies.
  • Collaborate with the HR Manager and Leadership team to analyze HR metrics and trends, providing insights to drive informed decision-making.
  • Assist the HR Manager with yearly Open Enrollment, audits, and compliance items.
  • Perform other duties as required

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • 5 years Human Resource Generalist / Business Partner Role experience in a multi-location environment
  • 5 years of Recruitment and Talent Acquisition experience
  • Experience with HRIS systems, preferably Paycor
  • Excellent interpersonal verbal and written communication skills
  • Sound technical skills, analytical ability, good judgment, strong operational background
  • Ability to communicate with all levels of management and company personnel
  • Skill in coaching and educating employees.
  • Ability to administer Workers Comp, FMLA, LOA and Disability leaves
  • Ability to effectively manage/lead projects
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality of information
  • Ability to make decisions and solve problems while working under pressure
  • Strong PC skills and MS Office skills
  • Ability to prioritize and organize effectively
  • Ability to show judgment and initiative and to accomplish job duties
  • Ability to work independently, within minimal supervison
  • Knowledge of local state and federal employment laws and procedures
  • Knowledge of recruitment trends and technologies
  • Knowledge of employee relation's procedures and applicable law

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Sitting for 6 - 8 hours a day
  • Standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, and climbing
  • Ability to lift and move items up to 15 pounds
  • Travel required, up to 20%

EDUCATION

  • Bachelor's degree in human resources, business, or organizational behavior or related field or equivalent experience

LICENSE AND CERTIFICATIONS

  • Certifications for Human Resource Professionals (PHR, SPHR, SHRM-CP or SHRM-SCP) preferred but not required
