Job TypeFull-timeDescriptionOverview of the RoleThe Human Resources Generalist plays a major role in fostering a positive employee experience by administering the credit union's payroll, benefits, and statutory leave process and coordinating engagement and recognition events. The HR Generalist contributes to the accomplishment of all HR practices and objectives by providing administrative support in many areas of the department and acting as a major resource to GPO employees and the HR department.RequirementsResponsibilitiesUpdate and maintain employee records and human resources databases.Act as a resource to employees by answering HR directed questions or forwarding them to the appropriate HR staff member.Act as the lead payroll liaison by administering the credit union's payroll process and ensuring all employee paychecks are accurate.Coordinate employee engagement, appreciation and recognition events throughout the year.Administrate employee off-boarding through exit surveys, paperwork, system updates and COBRA.Administer employee benefits, answer employee benefit questions, process insurance payments, and work with our designated broker to choose annual benefit plans and conduct open enrollment.Coordinate employee leaves by providing employees with required paperwork, answering questions regarding their leave, tracking employee time out and reporting leave payments through payroll.Oversee the credit union's PTO program by keeping holidays updated within our HRIS system, answering employee PTO questions, and providing PTO reporting as requested.Review and respond to unemployment claims with appropriate documentation.Process monthly employee reimbursements.Conduct other administrative HR duties such as employment verifications, annual reporting and other filing.Track employee accident reports, follow up with facilities on proposed changes and complete annual reporting for Worker's Compensation provider.Complete other duties as assigned in order to support the department and the Credit Union.ExpectationsBring positivity and enthusiasm to work every day.Adapt a work ethic that is aligned with GPO's mission and keeps our member service at the forefront.Follow proper attendance protocol and adhere to position schedule.To maintain a confidential environment, respecting employee concerns.Stay abreast of regulations and trends within the industry and ensure the credit union remains compliant.Hold yourself accountable for the promises you make and the actions you take.Complete training as assigned and continually search for opportunities to enhance one's ability and knowledge.QualificationsBachelors degree preferred.
