Summary:
The Human Resources Generalist will provide recruiting and human resources support to terminal management.
Responsibilities:
Recruitment Process
- Advertise positions in local markets using various job boards, campus career sites
- Order, prepare and organize marketing collateral; manages and ships materials for job fairs, campus events, as necessary.
- Review in-coming resumes, phone screen candidates and move the best suited candidates onward through the hiring process
- Build candidate pools for various position to build our high performing diverse culture
- Interview candidates for various positions throughout the location
- Applicant tracking from interview, to badging, to scheduling new hire training.
Employment Life Cycle
- Preparation of airport paperwork for all employees and applicants including applications, renewals, changes and returns. Responsible for audit of ID cards and documentation.
- Onboard all new hires in HRIS system. Assist employees in registering in HRIS system.
- Educating new employees in regards to compensation, benefits, and company policies.
- Assisting Terminal Management and Human Resources Corporate Office with any employee related issues
- Facilitate the layoff, termination or departure process of employees who leave voluntarily.
Employee Relations
- Managing employee files for the employees' life cycle, including new hire paperwork, noting recognitions and policy violations and documents
- Act as a liaison between employer and employee, overseeing employee relations.
- Receiving and responding to employee complaints and escalating these complaints to the level of disciplinary or legal actions when necessary.
- Updating employee with changes in company policy, advising supervisor on treatment of staff and company policies
- Responds to employees' violation of policy and generally helps to resolve conflict in the workplace.
- Build rapport with employees in order to gain confidence
- Various duties as assigned by management.
Education & Experience:
- Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources or Business Management or equivalent working experience.
- Minimum of one year of recruiting and/or Human Resources experience
- Ability to work in fast-paced environment
- Excellent Interpersonal Skills (examples are: active listening, verbal communication, assertiveness)
- Bi-lingual skills preferred, not required (Arabic, Chinese, French, Italian, Korean, Japanese, Russian, Portuguese, Turkish)
Requirements:
- Must be flexible with schedule; Evening, Weekends and Holidays are MANDATORY!
- Must present professional appearance while interacting with candidates and outside business partners
- Must be team oriented
- Must pass airport security background check.
Physical Requirements:
- Must be able to stand and/or walk for eight hours per shift
- Must be able to travel between terminals if necessary
- May be required to travel off airport location to job fairs.
- Must be able to bend, kneel, and stoop.
