Job DetailsJob Location Morgantown Office - Morgantown, WV Position Type Full Time Education Level Bachelor Degree Job Shift Day DescriptionNATURE OF WORK: The HR Generalist position is responsible for aligning business objectives across the HR function to deliver value-added service for management and employees. The position will assist with the daily functions within the human resources department that assures that office duties, activities & projects are completed in a timely manner. Promotes a positive office environment by providing support services to employees throughout Valley. The position is an integral part of the HR Department to accomplish multiple tasks to ensure efficiency of processes throughout the agency. ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
  • Ensures that job descriptions are relevant for each position within the organization by working with managers to update and create job descriptions
  • Assists with ensuring managers comply with performance management standards
  • Organizes and maintains employee recognition programs
  • Assisting with employee investigations when needed
  • Coordinates source verifications for new hires to meet accreditation requirements
  • Works closely with management and employees to improve work relationships, build morale, and increase productivity and retention.
  • Serves as a back-up for training and compliance including becoming an instructor and conducting orientation when needed and assisting with the Relias learning platform
  • Performs administrative tasks to ensure compliance with licensure, accreditation, state and federal requirements
  • Assists with employee audits conducted internally and externally
  • Ensures safety drills are conducted on a regular basis per accreditation standards
  • Attends career fairs and other events to assist with retention efforts
  • Coordinates special projects and events as directed by the HR Director
  • Assists the other human resources staff with daily duties as assigned
  • Furnishes accurate, timely information to employees, supervisors and others while maintaining confidentiality requirements.
  • OTHER DUTIES AS ASSIGNED.
QualificationsMINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Ability to perform Essential Duties as outlined below.
  • Bachelor's degree in human resources, business administration or other related field OR HS Diploma/associate degree in business administration or related field with three years business administration experience
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Maintaining confidentiality
  • Excellent computer skills including using Microsoft Suite
  • Strong communication skills
  • Ability to comply with client's rights.
  • Ability to comply with Valley's and Division departmental safety procedures
  • Ability to read, write, understand and speak the English language
  • Strong Organizational Skills
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
  • HR Certification
  • Experience working in human resources
  • Management experience
