Oversees all aspects of human resources functions, including recruiting, retention, and employee benefits.
Job Responsibilities
- Assist in implementing processes and initiatives to meet company's talent, learning and development strategies, including facilitating talent management, professional development and career development to help retain top talent
- Maintain talent pipelines through ongoing, targeted communication with potential candidates
- Coordinate and attend career/job fairs
- Plan and conduct new employee orientation process and onboarding to foster achievement of organizational objectives and assimilation into company culture
- Monitor compliance with the Employee Handbook
- Maintain knowledge of legal requirements through continuing education to assist in mitigating risks and ensuring regulatory compliance for the company. Partners with outside counsel as needed/required.
- Manage semi-annual employee review meetings, including scheduling
- Monitor employee goal setting and tracking
- Takes an active role in the development, implementation and execution of employee engagement initiatives
- Administer various employee benefits programs, such as group health, flexible spending accounts, dental and vision, accident and disability, life insurance, and 401(k)
- Maintain employee benefits filing systems and ensure benefits changes are entered appropriately in payroll system for payroll deduction
- Assist employees with health, dental, life and other related benefit claims
- Verify the calculation of the monthly premium statements for all group insurance policies. Resolve administrative problems with the carrier representatives
- Administer COBRA and flexible benefits plan
- Review and respond to unemployment claims with appropriate documentation
- Assist with the company's third-party managed IT services provider
- Plan, coordinate and execute company meetings and events
- Assist the company's corporate SWAG (souvenirs, wearable, and gifts) program
- Assist in other human resources-related tasks that may be assigned
- Works closely with department heads and managers
- Reports to President
Education requirements, certifications, work experience
- College degree in human resources, public relations, marketing, business or related curricula
- Human resources-related experience helpful including knowledge of employment law and best hiring practices
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Able to meet deadlines
- Outgoing, energetic and poised under pressure
- Must treat sensitive information confidentially
- Problem-solving skills and ability to work well with others
- Excellent PC skills including Microsoft Office and Adobe
