The Opportunity
We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented HR Generalist to join our team in New York. This opportunity is perfect for a proactive go-getter, ready to deep-dive into the world of HR, regardless of your traditional background. If you possess a strong work ethic, a learning-oriented mindset, and the agility to move from in-depth problem-solving to attentive data entry you will fit in naturally. The ideal candidate will have 2-3 years of experience in human resources with a strong focus on payroll processing, benefits administration, and managing leaves of absence (LOA). This role is instrumental in ensuring smooth HR operations while supporting employee engagement and compliance with local regulations.
Responsibilities and Duties
- Payroll Administration - Process semi-monthly payroll accurately and timely, ensuring compliance with state and federal regulations, using ADP.
- Benefits Administration - Oversee benefits administration, handle inquiries, and manage enrollment. Manage employee benefits programs, including enrollment, changes, and terminations.
- Leave of Absence (LOA) Administration - Administer and track employee leaves, including FMLA, disability, and other statutory or company-provided leave policies.
- Assist in onboarding and offboarding processes, including paperwork and systems setup.
- Support employee relations efforts by addressing day-to-day HR inquiries.
- Ensure compliance with labor laws, company policies, and regulations.
- Foster an inclusive company culture through effective HR policies and practices
- Administer HR operations: onboarding, offboarding, updates, and processing. Including overseeing and managing all aspects of new hire orientation, including deck and information updates and scheduling attendees, to ensure a seamless and positive onboarding experience for new employees.
- Utilize Hibob, our HRIS, to produce data and reports for strategic decision-making and maintain system integrity.
- Coordinate and participate in strategic HR projects and daily activities proactively.
- Serve as a main point of contact for employee inquiries, providing prompt and accurate support.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field.
- 2-3 years of HR experience with hands-on responsibilities in payroll, benefits, and LOA administration.
- Proficiency in HRIS and payroll systems (experience with ADP or similar platforms preferred).
- Strong understanding of employment laws and regulations.
- Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with a collaborative mindset.
- Ability to handle sensitive information with discretion and professionalism.
